To be honest, Aidan "sounds" 100% better for a boy, being a boy's name and all. Of course, with the common (bad) trend of misspelling masculine names in an attempt to somehow make them feminine, if I saw "Aydan" on paper, I'd either assume it was a girl and the parents were going for that purposeful misspelling trend or that it was, indeed, a boy, but the parents weren't sure how to spell Aidan, took a shot at it (rather than bothering to look it up) and missed.

It's a nice name for a boy with the Aiden or Aidan spelling.

the name sounds like it is more suited for a boy. but maybe becuase there are just so many of boy Aidens running around these days. i've known a few girls named it too. the way you have it spelled i would say its a boy. for a girl i would say either Aidan, Aidyn or Aedyn if you really want to be funky. it goes both ways. also, Eden (ed-in) is a girls name that is similar to aiden. i dont know who you are planning on using it for. good luck.

I think it is better for a boy but spelt Aidan/Aiden. the spelling is okay but like your saying "hey Dan..."
We were going to name our first Aidan if it was a boy but we got a girl so I do like the name though!

Best of luck
