it would be quiet easyt first kate sedates her then gerry sedates her she is such a small child with the immune system not fully formed yet and also with children her age even a slight amount of the normal dose of medicine can kill a child by shutting down the organs etc so i dont she would have died instantly and they did say kate had mental heaalth probs but they did not say to what extend

ONE POSSBILE THEORY IS THAT SHE WASN'T ACTUALLY GIVEN A FATAL OVERDOSE OF A SEDATIVE BUT RATHER, SHE WASN'T GIVEN ENOUGH!
I think the main reason why most parents wouldn't go out and leave their young children alone isn't because they fear someone might break-in and carry them off, but rather they might wake up frightened and crying or get out of bed and hurt themselves.
We know by their own admission that the McCann's left their children alone so they could dine out with their friends at a "nearby" tapas bar. I understand this was not the first time they had done so and according to some newspaper reports, a lady who lived above their apartment told police that two nights before Madeleine disappeared she heard a child crying in the McCanns’ apartment, which only stopped when the family returned home later that night.
Perhaps it's possible they gave their children what they knew, as doctors, to be a safe dose of a sedative to ensure they slept soundly but that during their absence, Madeleine woke in a disoriented state and had a fatal accident within the apartment.
IF this were the case, her parents would be well aware from their medical training that if they reported her death to the police, a toxicology test at post-mortem would reveal the sedative in her system and that this could result in a possible manslaughter charge.
I don't think there's any doubt that this couple love their children and that they wish Madeleine was still with them but my own feelings are they put their own 'wants' in front of the 'needs' of their young children by dining out and leaving them 'home alone'.
I only hope Madeleine is discovered soon. Apart from the unlikely possibility of a confession, I think it'll be the only way the police will ever secure a conviction.

I agree that they killed her with a lethal dose of sedative accidentally and then set out on a major cover up story to clear themselves. The sedative would´ve killed quickly just by stopping her breathing. The waiter at the restaurant they were eating at says that only mr mccann left the table once all night, none of the friends as initially suggested, to check on the children abd he was supposedly the last person to see madeleine. new evidence suggests that nobody actually saw her from 5pm so she could´ve died anyway. However, the police found madeleines blood in the car that they hired supposedly after she had been abducted but if it was just sedative that killed her why was there blood there? I dont think they will ever find her body as if she was accidentally killed by her parents, they have done such a cover up job they could never admit to it now.

It would seem the practice of doping the kids so they could go out was common practice. They said they or their friends were checking on the kids every half an hour. Why would they let "friends" who were practical strangers look after the kids but not the professional baby sitting service the hotel complex had? Is it because the friends knew what was going on and that the kids were sedated? Or that they were doing medical "obs" on the kids every half an hour to make sure they were still breathing etc.
I think the friends checked on the kids but who apart from a professional would know the difference between a child asleep and a child in a coma? By the time her parents found her I think it was too late and they used that Murat guy to hide her body.
The eye witness who saw Maddie being carried away has not said she was screaming or trying to attract attention which I believe she would have been had she not been comatose or dead already.
Her parents did not call the police to report her missing until the next morning. Nor did they try to rouse everyone in that hotel to look for her if they truly believed her only to be missing.

Exactly what some of us have been saying since the beginning of this very sorry tale. They should be charged with fraud too, all those poor people they duped with their lies, disgusting. The body probably went into the sea, look at the map, its very close to where Madeleine died. As for needing a body in order to press charges, i think the Mccann's also held the same mistaken belief.

I hadn't heard about the seditation theory. Did the twins have seditives in them?
Anyhow...how stupid is it for two medical doctors with education ever leave their little ones alone and go out for dinner. Sedated or not, it is a crime.
This is a horrible situation and it sure seems to be pointing to the doctors. They must two be sociopaths to seem to be unmoved by the situation. Their saddness seems produced.
Gosh. I would be screaming and fainting etc.
It would of been much had they told the authorties that they gave her some medication and they had no idea it would kill er.
This story is sickening. And what a beautiful child she was.
I think the twins should be put in to protective custody until this story ends.
They should be arrested for leaving three children alone in a different country. down the road. They should be in jail for that alone. This little freedom dinner will cost them their medical licenses & hopefully do life in jail.
I have grandchildren and I can't imagine leaving them alone for even a moment.

well, either one sedates her and the other also does without realising she'd already had some or maybe she was sedated and then when they went to check on her she wasn't quite asleep yet and they gave her a little more! sedetives are designed for adults not children! she could have easily died quickly if she was given an over-dose!
i am not 100% sure of corse, no one can be sure they did it and no one can be sure they didn't! that is just a theory and it could have easily happened!

Doctors make mistakes. Look at all the people who die through misdiagnosis or being given the wrong treatment every year.
Its easy to overdose a child, maybe one of them sedated her and then the other one didn't know she had been sedated and gave her another dose and the poor child died of an overdose. So they panicked and hid her body.
Or maybe they left the bottle of whatever they used to sedate her lying around and she accidentally overdosed herself.

i have always thought that the children were sedated so as to stay asleep while their parents went out to enjoy themselves.maybe maddie was given a bit too much & to try & revive her one of her parents shook her & accidentally knocked her head(hence the blood) causing her death.
but who knows!! the truth will eventually come to light & the guilty will pay...
