My niece who is 18 year old turning 19 years old in the upcoming weeks wants to get pregnant so her 15 year old boyfriend he turns 16 i think at the end of the school year will have to marry her?I am very concerned her parents are divorced have been since she was 10 yrs old .Since then she has gotten kicked out of 3 different boarding schools and caused so much trouble failing classes, getting arrested for assulting her step mother, and a DUI neither of her parents want to deal with her.I was asked by her mom (my sister) to take her in for her senior year of highschool. Its been a year and half since she's been living with me. I got her to graduate HS through a lot of nagging and even got her to sign up for classes at the local community college. She seemed to be turning around till i found the ovulation kit and when i confronted her she said she wanted to ensure her bf would have to marry her?Saying he was a good catch and already promised to marry her when he turns 18.

I sure hope someone can help me. I had an U/S scan last week and my twins are now measuring almost 2 weeks small for dates. I've been having ultrasounds every two weeks and they have always been a little small (4 or 5 days) but this last one they are very small.

I saw my Dr. yesterday and he is going to arrange for me to see a perinatologist but I am now very nervous about what's going on. The U/S tech said they are one week small for size and 2 weeks small for weight. Dr. has told me that if the whole body is small than it is just small babies but if the head is measuring normal and other measurements are small than it is placenta and my babies are not getting what they need to thrive.

I could sure use some more information on this and any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi all,

I'm 7 1/2 weeks pregnant and for the past few days I've had a mild cold. No fever or anything, but I have had quite a bit of conjestion and head stuffiness. I seem to be getting better (slowly) but this morning when I was throwing up (from morning sickness, I've been throwing up about once a morning every other day) I noticed that, besides the food that I ate, I was also throwing up some plegm that must have made it to my stomach. Do you think this is something I need to worry about or call my doctor about immediately? I don't think I have an infection or anything, and I haven't had any spotting or cramping, I just worry that some bad stuff might get to the baby. I have my first appointment with my OB one week from today, so I could ask her about it then, but I just wanted some opinions beforehand. Thanks a lot!

I think I just want it to be Daddy, Grandma, Auntie and Mommy (me). Did your M-I-L or F-I-L come? I'm really just curious to see what the average is here. Plus any helpful hints you've learned along the way. I'm kind of nervous about this because of all the peolpe who wanted to come to my first sonogram...the room was packed!

Also include the type of labor you had...long/short, water birth, vaginal/c-section, whatever. =-)

Thanks in advance!

So, my 1hr glucose test results came back a little elevated. I scored 138, and they said they would like it to be under 130. So, I have to go in to do the 3hr tolerance test. They said that this is sometimes common and may most likely pass the glucose tolerance test but want to make sure. My concern is that I already walk 3 miles home from work each day as extra exercise during my pregnancy to keep my body in tone, and I eat pretty good. If I don't have gestational diabetes, what are things they would change in a diet of someone who has gestational diabetes? I know I am not going to be able to maintain my same activity level throughout pregnancy as it will become more uncomfortable. I guess I am scared of getting GD after I have passed the 3hr test because my exercise will most likely decrease the further along I get. Do they want you to take in less sugar, fat, carbs? I will ask at my appt. on 9/14, but wanted to get you girls' experience and opinion. Thanks!

So here is the story. I went off BC last october. I was having pretty regular 35 day cycles until April. Then I didn't get my period for almost 3 months. It finally came after my dr put me on progesterone for 10 days. My period started on July 26. It has been 41 days and still no period. I took a test on day 36 and was negative. I have been having slight period symptoms, lower back ach, sore breasts. At what point should I call the Dr? My husband and I are ttc so I don't want to wait around for my period again. What could be going on?

how on earth does he know the baby is fine and growing/developing properly between the Ultrasound and delivery? If something was wrong with the baby at time of delivery, should we blame the doctor? I am using the same doctor as with my daughter but never had this uneasiness. Thanks!!!

Ive never lived close to my family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousin..) except my parents and one of my brothers. And Im only close with my immediate family and one of my aunts. Now that Im pregnant it seems like all the sudden my distant family is so interested in me and the baby (I know their only wondering about my baby) I kind of had a feeling that would happen and I really have no interest in talking to them about me or my child. I guess I was kind of offended a little bit that they had nothing to do with me until I got pregnant...Oh and the people who are interested in what im naming the baby, where im registered etc. they are the ones who have never sent a bday card, xmas present or anything. Anyone else had this happen?! Id love to hear other stories (or maybe im crazy!!)

thanks anyways!!

We are teaching absolute honesty to our child; however, he is very aware of thins and asks difficult questions. For instance, if we are not under the speed limit at any time, he will ask why it is not considered dishonest to break the law in this instance.

Another example: I nearly fell off the roof while working one day and luckily I was fine; however when my wife asked me how everything went I told her it was fine because it did not make sense to concern her with the fact that I nearly got seriously injured. My child is not aware of this, but this brings up the questions about selective honestly which we all know we all do.

So, when trying to teach lessons of honesty to children, how do you handle these situations (or explain them) without seeming like a hypocrite?

I know many people will say that this is a silly question, but I bet that at least some of those people are hypocritical.

Yes, giving birth is a natural process, just like having sex, eating or performing your urinary and intestinal needs...

But will you deny that social precepts often don't make some acts more constraining?

Having sex in the first times can be inhibiting...

How about giving birth, in the presence of a certain amount of people (even though they are doctors or nurses, and so are for sure already used to this)?

Besides of that, I've also heard that women can have a poo (or fart) during childbirth...

Be sincere about this... After all, you are on the Internet (and I would never ask this in real life either...)

I have a wonderful teether that is mesh so you can put frozen fruit or ice in it for the baby, problem is that it's made in China and I'm afraid of poisoning my son. Would you use it or toss it?

I am 35 weeks pregnant. At 33 weeks my midwife measured me at 31cm. Now at 35 I am measuring 30cm. My baby is active and I feel well. I am going for a scan in the morning to check everything is ok. Has anyone else experienced this in pregnancy does it mean I am just having a small baby?

I do not want to find out ahead of time.

But I want to have a name picked out beforehand, that would be good for either a boy or a girl.

What do you think of these? Which is your favorite?

Bromine
Karvon
Guittas
Malaise
Kimberly
Vajoone
Muffline
