Should a 7 1/2 year old be able to go upstairs and get into bed on their own without the parent having to take time out to "get them in bed"? What age is old enough?

I'm wondering this because I know sometimes when you take an at home test it'll show Negative, but actually you ARE pregnant. I know there is a margin of error in that direction.

well my mother lives with us, my husband is a truckdriver so he's gone about 4 to 5 days at a time, and my mother is living with us and she's been such a great help with my 3 1/2 month old baby, I work as a waitress and do one shift a day( 5-6 hours) so he spend that time with her and she's very very great to him, but lately I started to notice that he's happier to see her than me, he's smiles at her more than he does at me, and that's realy upsetting to me because I'm very attached to my son, his crib is in my bedroom, and when I get back from work I rush to carry him and spend the rest of the day with him, I don't know what else to do, I 'm affraid that it may affect my relationship with my mother, do you think that my son thinks that his grand mother is his mommy? is he going to grow out of it? is there anything else that I can do to let him realize that I'm his mommy? please help me?

I dont know what amounts can hurt a potential baby or chances of conceiving, so for the most part I dont drink alcohol at all while I am fertile and during that 2 week wait (which gets frustrating when I get that BFN). Ive also been cutting back on caffiene. I dont drink or smoke, so caffeine is my "addiction: and I am finding it hard to stop altogether, especially with work and my last semester at school.

Should I stop having caffeine while TTC?
If not, when should I stop?
Should I stop altogether or just cut back?
What about other things like dying my hair and second hand smoke and all that stuff pregnant women worry about?

(Im in the middle of the 2ww again and getting paranoid;) )

my 6 month old son has a cold. it started out kinda tiny and has become a runny nose mess. he is running a very low grade fever, and can barely drink his bottle since his nose is so stuffy. i've called his doctor and he told me to put vapor rub under his nose. i know that this is acceptable, but i really want to take him in. i plan on calling (again) tomorrow, but the thing is, the last time i brought him in for a cold the doc didn't do anything. i was informed over the weekend by a family member who uses the same pediatrician that this guy doesn't "do medicine." my problem with this is my son's cold is not getting better. so, my question is, what should i do tomorrow if he refuses to treat my son? i know that i am not a doctor, but i can tell when my little boy is sick. would i be out of place to politely insist on medicine? for now, i'm giving him johnson's vapor baths, using saline drops and infant tylenol. i am not a big drug supporter, but there come a time for them, right?

My husband and I are trying to conceive. . . We thought we were pregnant. All the classic EARLY signs. Tired, Sensitive to smells, easily nauseated but not sick. But then I started what I assumed was my period. (It lasted for only two days although it was a normal flow) It has completely stopped for two days now and I have taken a preg test. It came back negative. I had no pain associated with my period just some normal very mild cramping. My husband is asking me all kinds of questions like could that have been a miscarriage instead of a period. And Could you be pregnant and that's why it stopped? Any advice for me as to what I should think. Thanks for your help.

My dr recently told me that i had a chemical pregnancy. At 15dpo my HCG was 29, 17 dpo HCG 43, 21 dpo HCG dropped to 2.5.

Im wondering when i start to bleed is it my body pushing out the tissue or will it be my period. When am i supposed to start my period again.

How soon do you think its safe to start ttc again? Can i start after my first period?

Please share your thoughts- Thank you!

Yes this was an issue on CNN headline news today.
Some fathers are outraged by this.
It seems lots of mothers do not trust men on relations with children. I actually think this is discriminant against men. It makes us feel isolated and unfit to be a parent or aquainted with children.
The child sexual abuse rate is increasing and many people claim that men are the primary suspect of sexual abuse on minors. This is not true for all.
A lot of women are misjudging men for being pedophiles or sex offenders and especially men who look different(facial hair, long hair, etc.)
I bet many mothers would think I am one myself cuz I have long hair and I am single. That is not true either. I like children but not in any sexual way. And it's making it very tough on men like me. Someone commented on this topic on the news site and involved Hillary into the whole hatred of men.

In summary, Are we teaching kids to fear all men?
To fear 48% of the United States population?

I have been with my bf for about a year now and i interact with his two daughters, aged 9 and 5, like a step parent would (i assume). In a nutshell, life is like this: My bf has two worlds. One is of him with his kids. The other is of him with me. The world with his kids is bigger and more important than the world with me and i fear that the two worlds will never be intertwined the way that i'd hoped they would be. When his kids are around, it's like i'm a third wheel that doesn't really matter and he says it's "because they are kids and they demand all of the attention." I know that i am the adult and i should just deal with it, but i don't know how. I want this relationship to work out. Any insight, from people who have been in this kind of a position or step-parents who are never number one, is much appreciated. How do you deal with never being number one? What makes it okay for you?

Let's just say his mother drives me insain, and she believes that she is God's gift of motherhood (when in reality she gave my hubby and his siblings Nyquil when they couldn't go to sleep when they were children) He's thinking he wants to bring her up to our one bedroom apartment even before our baby is born~! She's demanding, and just makes me a nerveous wrek! ISn't it better that there isn't someone staying with the new parents when a baby is just born? She's the type of woman to literally take the baby away from the mother! I want at least a week with our new baby girl before exposing her to his mother~!!! HOw can i tell him this!?! HELP!!!

I've had the most horrible experience being in foster care. I've been from group home to hospital over and over again. When I turned 15 they started putting me in foster homes... most of which were dirty. There was roaches in one and I had to share one bedroom with four other girls.
I started running away and instead of the system realizing they're putting me in terrible places, they told me I was "troubled" and "uncontrolable".
I turned 18 in April, and now I'm pregnant. This wonderful foster care system that they still wont let me leave is sending me to ANOTHER bad place for "pregnant teenagers." I just dont know what to do. It's in a bad area, and I dont want to be there... but everyone thinks I just dont know whats best.
How do I get it across to my social worker and judge that I don't want to live in these crappy sh*tholes they're putting me in and I deserve to be treated with respect?
I dont care what anyone says... the foster care system in CA hides a lot of the bad things.

I've had the I.U.D. for 5 months now and I've only had like two periods since I've had it. I was wondering if it possible to get pregnant with the I.U.D. if it gets shifted once it is in place? See the reason I'm worried is because with my first pregnancy I didn't have any systems except a missed period before I actually found out I was pregnant and now I've only had a couple of periods and they were light and for the last couple of days I've had this feeling on the left side of my stomach like a baby is kicking and it has me very nervous.....please give me some advice.
