Yes I have heard that you can get preganant with an I.U.D. I have also heard a story about a baby being born holding on to the I.U.D. .take a home pregnancy test. and if it comes back negitive and you still think you might be go to a doctor and ask for a blood test.(when I was pragnant with my daughter all urine test came back negitive and I knew I was so I ask for a blood test and sure enough I was pragnant) good luck.

I know how you feel. I had an IUD for 3 years before i had it removed. It is possible, but highly unlikely, especially if you went to your follow up to make sure it was still in place. My periods were lighter and then eventually disappeared. I am sure that you are fine just feel for your string or if you can't feel them have the dr check. My dr recommended taking a pregnancy test every two months or so after my periods stopped.

The person who said an IUD stops menstruation is extremely wrong. If anything, the IUD will cause heavier periods and spotting between periods.
Yes, you can indeed get pregnant while using the IUD. IUDs can slip, they can be expelled without you knowing, but you can even just plain get pregnant with one in place - it has not been unheard of for babies to grow right alongside an IUD. And then there's the scary chance of an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy.
It is time to get a pregnancy test.

Yes it is possible but i am not sure how common it is. Women don't usually feel baby kicking until around 18 -20 weeks so it is highly unlikel, but gas feels about the same way. I had the iud for a year but had it taken out because i wwas trying again.

Since the IUD doesn't prevent ovulation, only implantation, it's possible to be pregnant on the IUD but unlikely. However, if you have any reason at all to suspect you are pregnant, you should get yourself to a medical facility at once. Your doctor's office tomorrow morning would be soon enough.

I personally know of two women who got pregnant while using an IUD. Or as one of them joked "My daughter was born holding the IUD in her little hand." LOL
Nothing but abstinence is foolproof! If you think you could be pregnant, get thee to the doctor asap.

I don't know about modern IUD's, but my aunt conceived my cousin while using one in the 1970s. As far as I know, it was possible then; it may still be now.
Personally, I'm perfectly happy with pills.

IUD's will stop your period all together eventually, thats whats so wonderful about them.
They take about 6-8 weeks to be fully effective, and you're supposed to use condoms for the first three months.
Take a test if you really think you're pregnant, otherwise, go on with life. 99.9% is a pretty good form of birth control.
