I'm wondering this because I know sometimes when you take an at home test it'll show Negative, but actually you ARE pregnant. I know there is a margin of error in that direction.

A test only shows positive if the HCG hormone is detected in the urine..If you get a postive its more than likey you're pregnant..If you get a negative it could be a false negative meaning that you are pregnant but the HCG hormone is not strong enought in the urine to be detected by a test..
If in doubt go and get a blood test done..

Yes you can miss your period and not be pregnant but I am pregnant with my fourth child and believe me when I say that a line, is a line and it's not gonna show up if you are not producing the pregnancy hormone, hcg. I would say that it is safe to say she is pregnant. I had a few negative results with the current pregnancy in the very beginning, some tests are just more sensitive than others and can pick up the hormone sooner, but I am 14w right now. Good Luck with parenthood!

Yes you are pregnant if the home device says you are. It reacts to a hormone called Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, which constantly increases during pregnancy. This is the hormone any pregnancy test looks for, it can be detected in the urine. If ever any question it can also be detected by getting a lab draw (taking blood), which they can then test for the HCG.

Provided the test isn't faulty and you have used it correctly, and are reading the result in the recommended window of time, then you can be pretty confident that a positive result means you are pregnant.

If you get a positive pregnant test, see a doctor as soon as you can anyway, they'll confirm it and you can start prenatal care.

I'd say Yes your pregnant. The errors usually happen with the negative readings. Go to your Dr to confirm it. Congratulations and best of luck to you.

Yes, positive = positive. The only time it might show positive and you are NOT pregnant is if you are taking fertility drugs. It is extremely rare for it to show positive due to an error within the test itself.

Yes it means you are pregnant. However, half of all 1st trimester miscarriages are due to a blighted ovum, which is a chromosomal abnormaility that causes only a sac to develop but no baby. So, a positive pregnancy test doesn't mean there is an actual baby.

I have heard that you have a better chance of getting a false negative result than you are to get a false positive . pregnancy tests are usually 99.8% acurate these days

False positives are usually a woman that has an early miscarriage, or evaporation lines..
