I do not want to find out ahead of time.

But I want to have a name picked out beforehand, that would be good for either a boy or a girl.

What do you think of these? Which is your favorite?

Bromine
Karvon
Guittas
Malaise
Kimberly
Vajoone
Muffline

Kimberly, but not for a boy.
Malaise means sickness, so not appropriate for a beautiful baby.
Bromine sounds like a chemical.
The rest I just don't know. Can you picture yourself calling the child when the child is older and calling out one of these names?
There is nothing wrong with unusual names - in fact they can be awesome, but make sure it's something appropriate. Having the wrong name will affect the child his or her whole life - at school, meeting people, interviewing for a job - you don't want to set your baby up for a life of questions about their name. Speaking from experience, My own name isn't that uncommon, but I have had it mispronounced and misspelled (on my wedding napkins as a matter of fact!) more often than not. It can be pretty frustrating for a child. I am questioned about it all the time - ie. "That's very pretty, what is the origin?" or "I've never heard of your name before, how did your parents come up with it?"
Here is my personal opinion on names and you can take it or leave it: Every boy (and I am not sexist) should have a name that would fit with "President of the United States" (what if your son is destined to become the greatest leader we've ever had?) Boys also do well with easy names or one that can be shortened when they are learning how to write their name in school. They are happier for it! They LIKE and appriciate easy - especially ages 3-7.
Girls don't want to feel out of place - a pretty, but unusual name can be a blessing. A girl who is in the awkward preteens and already feeling funny about her body, figuring out her friends, figuring out who she is becoming is not going to thank you for giving her a name that makes her stand out from the crowd - or a name that people can tease her with.
I think you're on the right track as far as creativity, but some of them might not be the RIGHT one. You'll both know when the right name comes along - it will hit both of you like, "THIS IS IT! It's PERFECT!"
Best Wishes!!!

Do you mean you want unisex names?... I'm sorry but I don't like any of the names on your list as unisex.. the only one I would consider is Kimberly and that is a girls name. I think you should keep looking.. what about the name Erin/Aaron?... Devon/Devyn... Peyton, Hayden, Jayden..
Like any of those?...

Bromine is on the periodic table of the elements. Please forego that name.
Malaise is ok. Kimberly is nice. Muffline needs to be respelled--Muflyne, or Muflynne, depending on how you want to pronounce it or risk get call a tank.

I would say you should rethink those. I don't care for any of them. Kimberly is ok for a girl but not much of a boy name these days.

Kelly
Karson
Jordan
Taylor
