Pregnancy & Parenting - 9 February 2007

I have a friend that found out she is prego and I found out last night I am having a miscarrage after trying for years... this is her 2nd baby and I'm happy for her but I can not help but be jelous and upset. I am really close with this friend she is like a sister to me but it is really starting to be hard to be around her. Watching her baby grow inside of her and wondering what that feels like... She is the kind of person that does not talk about that kind of stuff even if I ask her how she is doing or what is going on, she just says "OK" and leaves it at that ... Then when big things happen like she had an ultra sound and did not even tell me she was having it... I found out by seeing a photo she had on her frig... when I asked if it was from her first or the new she said... oh that is the new on we had it taken about a week ago and dropped it... how do I deal with this?

I could not believe what i had read in some answers when a woman asked a very serious question about abortion.
So you say that you should not have an abortion to save your own life? So you would rather have your kid(s) motherless and leave your family behide?
To people that claim abortion is murder well newsflash it is not! It is a medical procedure in stopping pregnancy just like how your birth control pills you take does. A fetus is not a baby until it is alive and breathing. Every woman has the right to choose and whether you like it or not abortion is 100% legal so get over it.

my husband and i are having trouble conceiving. His friend and his g/f are talking about having a baby and they have both been tested and are sure to fall preg soon. When i heard this i was so upset, jealous felt lousy about myself and very depressed that i can't give my husband at least 1 child.

does feeling envy or even hard towards them make me a bad person? i have never felt anything like this before

Any sugg on giving my son his vitamins without getting the stinky stuff all over the place.
-I have to hold his hands down or he will grab the tube and get it all over the place....then when i do get it in his mouth he gets a look on his face like it is really nasty and just kinda lets most of it drool out.

-he doesnt take bottles so i cant mix it in with milk

I'm 18 weeks, almost 19 and since about 15/16 weeks I've started to feel the baby very little by little. NOw that I'm 18 weeks, it's no longer uncommon for me to feel the baby AT LEAST 5-10 times a day. It's starting to become normal and everytime I feel the baby, I become filled with joy. This little baby brightens up my day all the time! It's starting to become a part of life for me to feel my little one...is this how all pregnant women feel? I never knew pregnancy was this special!!! (this is my first)

my 3 year old has been taking a few... mabey 5 bites of her meals and then hiding her plate in cupboards, closets ect... she used to be a very good eater. now I worry if shes eating enough.
she loves her vegies sometimes thats all she will eat.

My 18 month old has been waking up at night crying, but it's only for a few seconds and then she's back asleep. She repeats this all night, and usually wakes up about 3:30 am and stays awake for an hour or so. She seems very restless and I wondered if "night terrors" could be to blame. I had them when I was very little, but is 18 months too little for them?

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and we've started buying stuff for the baby, got quite allot of stuff now plus a friend had a baby girl 4 months ago and as I'm having a girl as well she gave me a load of stuff, 0-3 month clothes etc.

The buggy arrived yesterday and my partner unwrapped it and then last night his friend told him that you must never put up a buggy or buy things until the last minute, also we've picked a name which is also supposedly a bad thing to do.
We have started painting the nursery and the furniture is on order and should arrive in around 35 days but is this too soon?

How superstitious are you and when is it considered OK to start to buy things and put things up?

my sister in law has just found out she has lost her baby although she should be over 10wks the baby didnt make it past 6wks,
she will be going in to have a D&C but has been told they will do a postmortem on the baby to see why it didnt survive, can this be done!!
i also lost a baby at almost 11wks but it didnt make it past 6wks but was never offered such a thing.
she has asked me for reassurance on this and have no idea what to tell her. has anyone else found out why the baby didnt survive?
we are in the UK so things may be done different here.
