I put the dropper to the back of his mouth touching his cheek and would squeeze it in slowly so he had a chance to eat it.
Other times, I mixed it with his fruit and cereal. You are at the stage where you should have started feeding him, so this should be easier now.

Is he eating solids yet? I would imagine he is a t 6 months. I just mix the vitamins into a few spoonfuls of his favorite food and he gobbles it right down. If that doesn't work, try it in some juice in a sippy cup. Another thing that has worked for me occasionally is to put a favorite toy in my son's hand when I give the medicine...this way his hands are occupied and he does not grab the tube (which is so annoying because everyting ends up everywhere!) You can also have flavor added to the vitamins at the pharmacy, but the flavor is really just sugar...still it works if you are desperate! Just a suggestion...you might want to try a few different bottles to try to get your little on used to the bottle. If you want him to ever be able to use a bottle, start now. The longer you wait the harder it will be and I am sure you will want some alone time in the next few months. One bottle that seems to work well with breastfed babies is the Dr. Brown's bottle. Good luck!!

To answer an earlier comment, a vitamin supplement is quite the norm. Especially if you are in an area that does not add fluoride to the water. It does have a pungent odor and it is unpleasant tasting. I tried a tad after seeing my son's response. The best way I found was to place the dropper along the inside of either the left or right cheek towards the molar area and squeeze slowly. They tongue is not able to swish out the vitamins as quickly and a majority will flow in. Hope this helps and enjoy that little guy....they grow sooooooo fast!!

I gave that task to the father!
I would try it once in a while but not every day, and not worry if he doesn't get the full dose of vitamins because he already has plenty in your milk. Even vitamin D, he gets a little bit in the milk and a little through the sunlight.

The stuff tastes YUCKY. I don't blame our kids for spitting it out.
I did try to give my daughter hers by gently sticking the dropper into her mouth as she nursed. this ended up all over my breast.
Have you tried giving your child juice in a cup? You could suggest that if your child takes his vitamin, he can have juice in his cup. I bought fun cups for my daughter, so she enjoyed using them.
Or a teaspoon of sugar helps the medicine go down.
I know your struggles. If you are taking vitamins, you should be passing plunty to your baby via your breastmilk. We had trouble with the floride.
Good Luck

There isn't really much more you can do. Especially he doesn't take bottles. Have you tried mixing it maybe with his cereal or even baby food? If this doesn't work, than you are going to have to continue giving it by mouth, but making sure his mouth stays closed. Good Luck, Mom of seven ages 18-6

Mix it with some juice. Have you tried a juice bottle yet or a sippy cup? Juice will cut the taste. Have you tasted that stuff.. it is nasty. Like sucking on a penny. You can also mix it with some cereal or baby food. Good luck.

Put it in a sippie cup with juice or milk.
I personally wouldn't give vitamins to a 6 month old. It's not necessary and I am curious as to what pediatrician would even recommend it.

Put it into a cup with a little juice and let him drink it. All else fails, tip him back and give it to him. Why no bottle. They need the sucking reflex. Parents now days want their little ones to be "little adults" too soon. No milk until they are 1 year also. Taken from someone who knows.
