The Bible clearly states "Thou Shalt NOT Commit Murder" (or "Kill"). There is enough scientific evidence out there supporting the life of the baby in the womb. Abortion is taking that life. Just in America, there have been MILLIONS of babies killed in this manner. A virtual holocaust against our children. I refuse to call the baby a "fetus" because that depersonalizes it. Did you know that there was a bill (that congress REJECTED, for some odd reason) stating that doctors would be required to inform mothers that their baby would feel pain in the abortion (which has been proven) and to offer anesthetic to the baby? The Bible also has many passages talking about how precious children are. There's also the Psalm talking about how God "knit me together in my mother's womb". I find it to be a very powerful indication that we ARE NOT to kill unborn babies. There is forgiveness for those who do (the doctors) and have had it done (the mothers).
I have a very close friend who had an abortion years ago. Since then, she has received the forgiveness of God, and has gone on to lead a very good life in ministering to others (as a pastor's wife, and talking out against abortion, offering help to those who have made the mistake). She's knows what it was like first hand. If there was nothing wrong with abortion, why would so many women feel so terrible about their decision, before and after? Why would there be any reservations in their minds if all it does is "solve a problem"?

The ten commandments is one teaching, but I won't repeat that as many answerers mentioned it. The teaching that stands out to me the most is found in the book of Jeremiah where the prophet hears the LORD tell him, "before I formed you in your mother's womb, I knew you." He also tells Him, "for I know the plans that I have for you..." These things let us know that even before we were born, God loves us. For these reasons, it is impossible to argue that a fetus is not a baby or a person who deserves the life God's given him or her. Lastly, Romans 8:28 says that ALL THINGS work together for the good to them that LOVE God. To me this means that there are no mistakes, especially when it comes to the simple creation of life. Even when horrible circumstances surround a situation, it is still not an error and what the devil may have meant for evil, God means for good. (Genesis 50:20)

Abortion is a form of child sacrifice as found in the evil ways of some in the Old Testament. Same satanic, inhumane evil.

A question so important, he asked it twice.
The Bible teaches that God knows us before we're even formed in the womb. Therefore, if God knows us, he has a plan for us, and we should not interfere with that plan by aborting a baby.

I believe the relevant passage re: abortion is the commandment that states, "Thou shalt not commit murder." It would make most true Christians forego the process.

In Proverbs chapter 6 it talks about the seven things the Lord hates and one of them is Hands that shed innocent blood and what is more innocent than a baby?

From the moment of conception, God knows the child. God reveals to us in His Word that not only does life begin at conception, but He knows who we are even before then (Jeremiah 1:5). King David said this about God's role in our conception: "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb....Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them" (Psalm 139:13, 16).
That tells me that the baby is a person, at the moment of conception.

Thou shall not kill pretty much means you probably shouldn't kill your unborn fetus. A child is a precious gift from God. Who are we to decide to end that life because it may inconvenience us? IF you get pregnant and don't want it, give it up for adoption.
