Pregnancy & Parenting - 12 February 2007

I am 5months along, and expercing severve muscle aches. The pain is just below my ribs. I have talked to my doctor about this, and she said if I can point the pain out, no worries. It is also called some big medical term, and everything is o.k, and normal. I just wanted to know has anyone ever experinced this? and what did you do to subside the aches? I am a small frame chick, and I know its because my belly is growing, but geesh! It hurts! Any suggestions?

My sitter has a 40 y.o daughter who was in the hospital ICU three hours from where we live. Two weeks ago the sitter went to be with her daughter and gave me no advance notice nor a phone call that she would be unable to watch my kids. Yesterday, I showed up to drop the kids off and she had gone again. after waiting at her house for 30 minuntes her neighbor informed me her daughter was dying and she went to be with her. While I am sad for my sitter, I missed work for 12 hrs last week and now 12 hours this week. This week I am scheduled to work 36 hrs and this is the weekend of her daughters funeral i am sure. Did the sitter have a duty to inform me she could not watch the kids, or provide back up? The sitter has already gotten paid from the state, but not by me, should her co - pay be adjusted on my end seeing since I didn't make the money I can't pay the money. I am a single parent of three, student and work in a major ER and got repremanded for missing work on short notice.

I had an ultrasound yesterday and was told to have minimal subchorionic bleeding. When I was 5 weeks along I had spotting for a week. Now I'm already 8 weeks pregnant and no spotting but they detected a bleed in the ultrasound. My husband and I haven't had sex since I had spotting but now does it mean we still can't have sex?

I like the name Mackenzie. However it is a LAST name and it means "SON OF KENZIE". So why do folks give that name to their daughters, and further more why don't new parents do a little research into names?

Honestly, would you name you daughter gary, mike, jeff, etc, or your son Susie, Betty, Veronica?

Folks, look up the names you want to name your children and Just so others can know, the proper name for a female should be Nickenzie, meaning Daughter of Kenzie.

P.S. It's gaelic, my daughter's name is gaelic and I studied very hard to find a fitting name.

Doctors always say that you should try for a baby for at least a year before going to see them for check ups.

Can anyone tell me what the actual process is when you have been trying for a year. For example, I don't have too much faith in my doctor - I feel like I could be dying and they would be reluctant to get an appointment in the diary - so I'm just wondering if after a year, they simply tell you to try for another year (I have heard this before too).

If you have check ups and everything looks fine...what is the usual wait for IVF or fertility treatment - I notice that people on here have waited for 4 yeras, but others 1 etc. Obviously it depends on each case, but would love to hear your views and experiences.

I am from sommalia,after we got engaged my mother checked my to be wife to check if she was circumcised.Sadly she was not circumcised.My mother decided to circumcise her the same night of our marriage.I remember she was escorted into the room with my mother.She did not know anything about what she was getting into.Though I knew I didnt tell as i know she would not co-operate.My mother stripped her naked and fifteen women who come with the circumciser took hold of her and pinned her on the bed.They opened her legs wide open and riped clotoris out.I was not allowed to come in but i knew they had started to cut her as she was screaming her lungs out.No sooner did they rip her clotoris she became unconcious and she started bleeding very profusely.We rushed her to the hospital were she was given 4 sticthes.She was unconcious for 3 days after which she regained concious..She is so scared that she is not allowing anyone to have a glimpse of it ,she is unconsolable how can I help her recover?

Hello!
My last M. was on Jan 14. We was together on the 29th and the next couple of days. On Febr.3-4-5 I had small cramps, pulling and heavy feeling in my lower abdomen. My boob sice yesterday feels fuller and a bit bigger. Wondering if the magic happend or just Aunt Flo on her way.

Has anyone had a problem like mine? i cant sleep flat as my midwife asked me not to so i sleep on side but they get sore after few hours of sleep. Is it going to get worse with weeks passing? I dont know what to do. Please help

My youngest is 2 years..and oldest is 7 years..

I am trying to have more family fun nights by playing games with them both, but my oldest wont play babyish games, and my 2 year old cant play big boy games...all i want is a few games that both of them could play together, or is it too much of an age gap to expect them to play nicely together??

We've been TTC for over a year now. After about 7 months I started to wonder what the problem was. My husband has a child already, so I know it's not him. I started charting my cycles to make sure we hit the right day, but we are sexually active just about every day. My cycles vary from 32 days to 37 days. I'm wondering if that's normal. ??? A friend of mine had mentioned that maybe I have an anovulatory cycle. How do I find out if that is problem so I can fix it? I know I need to go to the doctor, but what will he do?

a rape. Now she's older, married, with 2 children, and she is always thinking about what she did when she was younger. Says she's upset and cries, saying it's her fault because she feels she killed her oldest child, when there was a lot of circumstances at that time that led up to what she did. Lately it's been on her pretty heavy, getting close to the month it all took place all those years ago. She said last night that her child would have been 14 and cried. hi! just want somebody to clarify to me if i m really pregnant or what...i had my last period last jan. 2 and it lasted 4 days. so,,end of jan or 1st week of feb., i am expecting my next period which didnt come and lately, on feb 8, i had some pinkish-brownish discharge. then feb. 9 it stopped and again feb. 10 'til now,,i have slow and lighter blood coming out after i am peeing.. had a leg cramps before d discharge came,,headache mostly everyday,,and occasionaly,,,back pains...could i possibly be pregnant with this? i dont want to make test yet coz i m afraid i m not and i will just get disappointed..
