Hi, I usually try simple board and card games ( ludo, snakes and ladders, snap, happy families etc ) but have the youngest child on my 'team'. The little one can roll the dice, move the pieces, spot the 'snaps' with you helping to show him how the game is played, and the older one will be able to play himself. Just be careful that the older one doesn't think you're helping the younger one too much or you might get accused of having favourites or not playing fair if he doesn't win! Alternatively, activities like painting, collages and playdough are good fun with kids of different ages.

no there isnt too much of an age gap.
card games such as pairs, snap, and other small board type games such as hungry hippos and huck a duck (as long as you play along with the younger one) should all work fine. Talk to your 7 year old and tell him that if we all play these games (what he classes as baby games) together then when the 2 year old goes to bed you and the 7 year old can play a game for 30mins before he goes to bed.
it may be a way of getting the older one to play more suitable games for the younger one.
good luck! and keep trying..

card games are usually good - pairs, snap - etc.. this helps them both individually.
connect 4 is good - the 2 yr old learns to take turns whilst the 7 yr old learns about sequencing etc..
most games can be adapted for most ages, just needs lots of adult support to ensure they both dont get frustrated. (and the 2 yr old doesnt eat the pieces)
My 3 yr old plays games meant for 7 yrs plus - although they are not played properly he has a fun time

Ok, i hav no children, going to have some, but anyway, i'm no expert on this, so correct me if i'm wrong
You need to play some lego together, and build, if you dont have any lego for them, buy it, they'll both enjoy it, I loved legos when I was a kid, they still play with them in the 10'th grade..
Anyways, all i'm saying is you shouid have some get together time and play legos sometimes. Hope that helps.
Also, is it a male or female, cause, I have some advice..

Tiddly winks, picture dominoes, snap. A great game is bat the rat but you need the actual game you have to hit the rat with a mallet (supplied) when it light up. It's fun for all ages.
