Reason i ask is that my husband is at work and i am just wondering ( he is on night shift) if it breaks do i have time to wait for him to come home which will take up to about 40 minutes or should i go straight there. If i am in great pain i will go straight away. Am just bored and wondering? I know in most cases labour starts first ie contractions. I am 38 weeks!

PREFACE: I am well aware that everyone is different and that the baby will come when he is ready. My question - for the mothers out there - is:

How long after you were 1 cm dilated did you go into labor?

Too dangerous they say. Our children will find it hard to survive in the real world when all risks are taken out of life when they are young.

Indoor play when its cold, wet snowy-- Health and Saftey.

Would you sue if you child slipped on the snow and broke their arm??

My husband says never, lol. I don't know if I'd allow my daughter to date until at least 16, but who knows. My oldest is only 10.

Hi, I live in the UK and went along to book an appointment with the GP after taking a positive pregnancy test. The receptionist told me they do not need to confirm it themselves, and gave me an appointment at 8 weeks with the antenatal clinic. This is my first child so I dont know but is that normal? It seems a long way off and dont they need to check my BP etc? Advise me what not to eat???

Our cat died last night in it's sleep. Our son is 2 and a half. Chances are he has no idea or concept of death yet and my first instinct is that now is a good time to learn.
I don't want to sugar coat it and it would need to be handled sensitively but I think now would be a good time for him to see our cat dead and to see her buried in our garden and mourn her together and begin to understand what that means.

He'll learn about it anyway but at 2 1/2 is he too young?
