You're not the first one and you won't be the last. I've had a similar experience. I just didn't say anything. Wait and see if your daughter says something. I didn't say anything and mine is fine. Besides embarrass'ing it's nothing.

I think I was about 5 or 6 when I walked in on my parents NOT under the covers. All they did was yell at me for not knocking first (it was the middle of the afternoon) and after that not only did I know but they also reminded me that when they were "taking a nap" not to "wake them up" unless it was a life or death situation.

If she's already 7, chances are really good she knows more than you think. Worse, she may have a lot of misinformation that needs to be straightened out.
I think you should ask her what she saw and if she had any questions. Seven isn't too young for a gentle birds-and-bees talk. You don't have to go into graphic detail. Just get an idea of what she knows, and let her lead the conversation.

PUT A LOCK ON YOUR DOOR
I would not say anything to a 7 year old about this. She doesn't need to know anything at her age about her mom and BF having sex. For anyone to say otherwise is ridiculous.
Besides, you are obviously not going to able to say to her that "sex is for 2 people who are married"...hope you are OK with her having sex with a boyfriend when she is a little older because remember children will do what they see, not what you tell them to do.
Sorry to sound harsh and I am not judging you but have seen this situation many times...it always turns out sad. YOU need to set an example for her mom.

*Thinking about when I was 7*..im currently 18, and trust me, these days, a 7-year old knows WAY MORE than you think. Chances are she knows what you guys were doing, she just doesn't know how it works. Be glad she's young. Because the older they are the more awkward it is.

Tell her the truth. And soon. Trying to brush it under the carpet can freak her out worse than what she may or may not have seen.
"Sweetie, the other night you may have seen Boris and me in bed and what you saw might have confused you or frightened you. We were having sex, which is what two grown ups do when they love each other very very much and are in a romantic relationship together. Is there anything about what you saw that you want to ask me about?"

First, find out what she saw:
Just explain that it is what a he and a she do when they love each other and then go into the "Birds and The Bees" speech if need be, and that it is perfectly natural.

more than likely she didn't see anything, so don't bring it up unless she does......and a 7 year old doesn't know much anyway, so you only have to be general, not specific in your answers....
but next time, try a lock on the door *wink*

I wouldn't say anything at all. If she does mention it, tell her you were play fighting/horsing around. A little white lie won't hurt anything if it means she can keep her innocence just a bit longer. good luck
