I am 5months along, and expercing severve muscle aches. The pain is just below my ribs. I have talked to my doctor about this, and she said if I can point the pain out, no worries. It is also called some big medical term, and everything is o.k, and normal. I just wanted to know has anyone ever experinced this? and what did you do to subside the aches? I am a small frame chick, and I know its because my belly is growing, but geesh! It hurts! Any suggestions?

Nothing much you can do I'm afraid. Aches and pains are part and parcel of pregnancy, as so much is happening in there. Major organs are being moved around, ligaments are being stretched to support extra weight, and your whole posture has to change to accomodate the shift in your center of gravity as your belly gets bigger.

The best thing to do is just rest when you can - don't stand up when you can sit down, and don't sit down when you can lie down. Take warm (NOT TOO HOT) baths and showers to ease your aching body, and if you can afford it, have a special pregnancy massage to try and help you relax. Eat well, don't smoke or drink alcohol, make sure you stay hydrated by drinking lots of water, avoid caffeine and cola drinks, and just take good care of yourself in general.

Other than this, just try and enjoy your pregnancy, it will be over before you know it and your beautiful baby will absorb all your time and attention and you'll forget about this part of it!

I'm 19 weeks pregnant with my second. My son is 5 years old and I don't remember experiencing all of those aches and pains that I am now when I was pregnant before. But with this pregnancy I am experiencing exactly the same thing that you are. I can't lay down the way I want to because it hurts, I can't get up to fast because it'll hurt, I can even yawn and stretch like I want to because again it hurts. But don't worry because my doctor also told me that this was all normal due to my baby growing, but just like you I swore up and down that something was wrong with me and that I shouldn't be feeling this uncomfortable, and this isn't how my first pregnancy was at all. I am also a small framed female. Maybe we're both having huge babies, jk, my BF was 10 lbs. when he was born.

Ohhhhh, I'm pregnant with number two and forgot all about that pain...argh.
Yes,this is normal. I remember it is such an annoying ache, nothing u can't handle, but just there enough to spoil your mood.
There's nothing wrong, it's just all the stretching and growing. I know it's misery! You hang in there.
You are normal :)

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Consult a doctor if it persists. You can also look for information in the web. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html

My ex-wife experienced those same aches. Yes, they are normal, because your organs are being pushed up from a growing baby. All she did, was take nice hot bathes to relax her muscles.

I know all my aches and pains got lesser the more active i was, and if i took a hot shower, and even some tylenol.

I got that with all three of my pregnancies. Its one of the annoying things we put up with, and then forget about when we decide to have another.

Tiger Balm is great for this. A little stinky, but its great.
