because thats the only way a baby can communicate. The baby learns from day one that when it cries it is going to get fed/changed etc

Because its the only way that they can communicate. A baby crying will ALWAYS demand adult attention.

crying is the only way a baby can communicate, they have different cries for different needs, so just see it as their unique way of telling you whats wrong, and what their needs are.

What i would like to know is how do us parents know what they want...Is their some kind of thing between us that we hear a certain cry for a dirty bum. one when there tired and hungry.......Babies can talk, they just dont use words......mum of 8.

Because they can't exactly say "hey mom I'm hungry" or "hey mom my diaper's dirty" or "hey mom, play with me I'm bored" Crying is all they have for communication.
