Pregnancy & Parenting - 9 February 2007

Just wondered what peoples experiences of these tests, are they reliable and do they work?

I have bought a load of ebay and so far no postive on the ovulation tests despite the fact on other tests previously i have have had postives and im on clomid.

I know these are internet cheapies and they say they are FDA and CE approved.

Experiences and opinions greatly recived!!

if they had the Internet 2006 years ago, do you think she would've been on Answers, 'mmm, i haven't actually had sex but i was sick for three months, then started getting big and uncomfortable, eating all kinds of weird things, some people tell me these are pregnancy symptoms, do you think this is some kind of miracle??'

My wife wants me to get one. I feel pressured to do it even though I don't really want to. My reason, I've just heard horror stories about it hurts, it might not work, it gets infected, i don't want a man with a knife touching me, i don't want a woman with a knife touching me, etc...I don't plan on ever having more kids but I don't want to feel like I'm a dog and am getting clipped either know what I mean? What to do?

I am 38 weeks and 4 days today. Woke up this morning to really painful aching back pain. Ignored it thinking it just comes along with labor being just around the corner. Layed down about 5 and couldnt get comfortable but couldnt get up cause it got worse on my feet. Had some clear thin liquid come around 1100. wasnt alot called doctor on call and he said not to much they can do so i need to just find a comfortable position and call if anything else gets worse. It is not 4 in the morning and the pain is worse than before. No regular contractions though. Went to the bathroom and wipe and the color on the toliet paper was a light pink. Is there anyone out there that can help me understand what is going on or give me the heads up on what to look for or even what to do at this point. THANK YOU so much,.

i recently had intercourse with my fiance (whom i do not live with and i have feared that he has been cheating on me) and as soon as we were done my vagina became severly swollen and now 2 days after that i have had this funky discharge that is light brownish yellow and has an awful odor. my mother has told me it may be a natural part of the pregnancy but to keep an eye on it, i was just wondering if any other women have experienced this kind of discharge this early in the pregnancy and if it was an infection which i know could lead to a miscarriage or if it was normal please only serious replies.

kids of any age...i have a 7 year old and a 14 year old ...they both dont do what i ask them ...even if i say that i will take somthing of theres away that they like ....they still dont listen ..

My good friend is 25 and a single dad of a sweet 4 yr old boy. He is like most single dads just trying to make it and dealing with the mother coming in and out of the childs life since birth. My friend and I are VERY close, talk about everything and have been friends since his son was born. Today he approached me with something I never knew was an issue. The family of my friend and his child constantly harass and say things about the childs clothing. For Christmas they bought him clothes but bought them in a size 5 for boys not a size 4T like he wears. My friend continued to tell me that his son only owns 2 pairs of pants and he needs to get him more but hasnt ever had the extra money. I told him right away I would love to buy clothes for the boy and would do it on Walmart.com so he could pick them up at the store. My friend got real upset and said for me to not buy any and leave it alone. I wanted to help, I offered & he took offense. What do I do, buy nothing and leave it alone?

I recently broke up with a guy, and about a week afterwards, discovered that I am in fact pregnant. There is no hope of getting back together with him, it's just not what I want, we don't fit.

He already has 2 children who live in the same town, yet he never sees them (by his own choice) and he does not pay child support. We are living in a town where neither of us is from, we have no family or real friends here. Because of that, he has decided to move back to where all of his family is. I plan on staying here. I really have no real desire to tell him that I am pregnant, since he will be gone anyways and I don't really feel he needs to be around. I will likely never tell him, unless my child wants to know, so should I suck it up and tell him now? Having him around will do nothing but stress me out and right now (because he will try to use it to convince me to get back together with him), and I really don't need the added stress in my life.

I also posted the question "Pregnant or...?". So, aside from the supposed spotting, what are some other symptoms of pregnancy? I don't have tender breasts, and I haven't noticed mood swings (but my fiance would be the better one to ask - haha) and like I said before, I was somewhat nauseous a few mornings last week, but I was sick, which would also account for fatigue? Also, being that I started my period (spotting?) Feb. 1st, would a home pregnancy test pick up the hormone at this stage???

As a single mom of a 12 year old son, where we live its extremely hot during the summer. To all you moms out there how do you feel about applying sunscreen and protecting your child in the sun?

Even if he is 12 when we go to the beaches, or swimming pools, it will be ME who will be slathering sunscreen on him because I think that If I do it my self, I will feel more satisfied and that my son will be protected much more.

I dont believe that "oh mommy is putting sunscreen on me" becasue its out jobs. I use 1 tablespoon of sunscreen per arm and 2 per leg and 4 for back and front, so I know he is protected.

what do you do to keep your children safe in the sun and at what age?

anyone with any good advice on how to get my son who is almost 2 to use the potty.... i have tried to take his favorite stuffed animal and put a diaper on it and and act like the bear told me he had to potty took the diaper off sat him on my sons potty and took a medicine dropper filled with water hid behind the bear and then put it in the potty like the bear used the bathroom... my son dont care that the bear used the bathroom... got that tip from a friend... he also has the elmo potty and elmo... he dont care about that.... he does have a elmo potty training dvd... that he watches every night... and has learned a little from it on his own... he'll take his pull ups or his big boy underwear off and sit down for a min and then takes off... he will go a hour or two with out wetting his big boy underwear... anyone have any other advice??????????

So for the past week or so ive been having this really, i wouldnt say its really painful...but it hurts enough to be noticed, pain in my chest...like the bottom of my rib cage right above my stomache...the way it would feel if you were working out for a long time & your muscles were all sore...it feels worse when i lay on my side at night so ive been sleeping on my back...its not my tummy at all..just my ribs?...i was just wondering if anyone else has felt anything simular to this or if its normal..& if there is anything you know of that could help with the soreness...if possible
