I can't believe some of the answers you've gotten for this questions. It's inexcusable (these peoples insensitivity). I can totally understand why you would want to clear EVERYTHING you do since there are so many unthinkable things that could cause spontaneous miscarriage. I totally understand you- I'm going to be such a paranoid mommy, considering it's my first time... I have never been told it's not ok to sew. I sew and plan on keep doing so since I've found out I was pregnant.

I sent that first answerer an email telling her how rude she was, by the way.

Good luck, I hope all goes well.

You really have to stop and ask yourself? I can not imagine that a sewing machine could pose any risk to an unborn child. Did you doctor tell you not to operate a motor vehicle or blender? In my 15 years of practicing medicine I have never heard of any risks posed.

I have been asked this question before and yes it is safe to use a sewing machine while pregnant.

Of course not! Everything must be hand-sewn....

it also isn't safe to use the internet, because you get the urge to ask stupid questions......step away from the computer....very slowly!
