nothing :) they all are smelly and not too pretty . Not pretty at all . ....

but it's normal . It has to be that way because of everything that went through it .

But the good thing is : NOBODY TELLS YOU TO SMELL IT ;)


btw. I think you are asking if there is any superstitious crap about it ....??...... I don't think there is .
Focus on the baby . If she/he is beautiful and healthy than it means that you'll experience a lot joy and love in your life.

i was there at my niece's birth a few months ago and i can tell ya that the pungent aroma of her placenta got right up my nostrils but thinking about it, it would smell it has been living in your body for 9 months absorbing all sorts

it means you have a normally functioning placenta!
its been supplying your baby with nutrients and helping expel them too, so it aint gonna look smell, or taste, very good!! if the midwife didnt comment on it, then dont worry about it.
babies are cute, but not everything associated with them is!
relax and enjoy the baby

It means you should probably go ahead and throw out the placenta.

i don't think placenta smells good,if any problem would have been there the doctor might have said anything so i guess it is norml

I wouldn't worry about it...your baby no longer relies on it to survive so I don't think it would matter. As long as the doc has given bubs the ok, thats really all that should matter!

after 9 months it isn't going to smell good. as long as your baby doesn't smell like gone off meat don't worry

in my own experience all placentas have a strange odor
