teens now days have new fades and ideas that parents have a hard time understanding. now it is okay to do the things that were wrong when we the parents were your age. we could do things that teens now would be expelled for. the new music is horrible. emo, an entire popular life style based on cutters and sadness. that is not cool it is a reason to seek counseling. teens think they will die a terrible death if they smoke a cigarette, but they pop pills that could kill them instantly. my parents are in their 60's now and had a hard time understanding me when i was growing up. now they have adopted a 12 year old that is even more different. they tell her, " when your sister was in school she wanted nice clothes, all you want is junk with the legs torn out." as new fades come and go things change. after you get out of school you lose track of the popular. every generation goes through it. the nation has gone on functioning for over 200 years now, by the power of its aged youth. i don't think the new generation and cause any more problems then past leaders already have. my advice to you is don't be too hard on the parents. follow rules as much as you can. learn to work hard and do well in school.

I think that it is a scary thought. This generation of teens is a bunch of kids that think that they are entitled to everything that they want. Most of them have been handed everything to them on a silver platter and they drive better cars then their parents do. My nephew just go a 30k brand new truck from his rich uncle and has a better cell phone and computer than my husband and I have. I think a lot of them are going to be in for a rude awakening when they actually have to go out there and work to buy these things for themselves. Just take a look at some of these reality shows where the rich kids have charge cards and million dollar sweet 16 parties. I think a lot of parents are failing to teach their kids work ethic and morality.

I think you teens are spoiled, opinionated and selfish. But so have teens been from the beginning of time (me included). I also think you are nice, lovely people, and I don't think there is anything to be worried about. You lot will do a good job in running the world, if you can recover it from where we the older folk have put it. Good luck.

I'm a teen, and I gotta say that I can't wait to get out of being one. Sure, there are some fun things, but I hate the horomones. I also think that most teens (NOT ALL...but MOST) are spoiled rotton brats who only want more.....most teens at my school don't even realize what they're about to face...because mommy and daddy are not going to be there to pay the bill....

i believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way... oh hang on thats a song! i luv teens and young adults, generally they have a go for it attitude and unbeleivable (egotistical u might say) belief in what they can achieve. they are better educated than previous generations, more savvy and and have endless opportunities available to them that didnt even exist 10 years ago. i like to think that every generation gets better , it has to, it can build upon the success and learn from the failures of the past.

Well, if you want my honest opinion.....I've seen your posts with the middle finger and I really hope you're not running anything when you grow up, if that ever happens. I'm sure I won't get 10 points for this but I got 2!

I envy them I guess. To be young again and have your whole life in front of you. To feel like you know everything (no offence) and to not realise that your parents have done everything you have and were young once too. To have that attitude where nothing will stand in their way and the innocence of not realising that life can turn out so differently to what you hope and plan it will.

It concerns me because we have most teens living in an instant gratification mindset. Most teens have no clue about finances and rely on their parents to give them everything. I am concerned.

Well..first of all, you teens wont be running anything as teens. You will grow up, become educated and mature and hopefully become productive members of society.
