I am 38 weeks and 4 days today. Woke up this morning to really painful aching back pain. Ignored it thinking it just comes along with labor being just around the corner. Layed down about 5 and couldnt get comfortable but couldnt get up cause it got worse on my feet. Had some clear thin liquid come around 1100. wasnt alot called doctor on call and he said not to much they can do so i need to just find a comfortable position and call if anything else gets worse. It is not 4 in the morning and the pain is worse than before. No regular contractions though. Went to the bathroom and wipe and the color on the toliet paper was a light pink. Is there anyone out there that can help me understand what is going on or give me the heads up on what to look for or even what to do at this point. THANK YOU so much,.

Get to the hospital already!! If leaking any fluid it should be clear ~ call your dr. again and tell them you insist on them & you'll be at the hospital. Better to get checked out and cleared than to worry and possibly have something go wrong.

The back pain is normal unfortunately. If your baby hasn't dropped already, it is probably just moving into position. I'd say you are going to be one very uncomfortable mommy until the kid comes out! I don't know what to say about the pink though.... I'd say your plug is preparing to come out. If it continues, insist your doctor examine you. If he/she is any kind of doctor, you should have weekly appointments anyway at this stage in the pregnancy.

sounds to me like you could be in early labour all of mine have started with a very uncomfortable back.
the pink loss could be your plug coming away ..another good sign. as for the fluid loss could be you waters leaking and that should really be checked or you may have had a slight accident ( happens to us all )
i think the doctor should at least check you over like you say this is your 1st and you don't really know what to expect, phone them back or contact your local hospital for advice most would check you even if it just puts your mind at rest.

if the colour is a light pink it could be a show (one type of begining of labour) i shoudnt worry too much as if you are starting labour it could be a long way of before the babe comes out - just relax and rest and try heat pad or hot water bottle for your pains sure you can take a mild pain killer too (but check with doc or midwife) if you continue to loose fluid or havea sudden gush contact doc or hospital as that could be breaking of the waters, it is possible for babe to come at 38 weeks and sure all would be fine.
I know its hard and you will be anxious but try to rest relax and build up your strength ready for labour

probably early labor with baby in sunny side up position. This causes back labor or back aches. You have probably lost your mucus plug --the pink tinge. Relax, take a warm bath or shower. Remember your body was made to do this and you are a strong person. Try to take a nap if you can.
