No, It cannot be seen until after the child is born. Even then it's hard to see - most parents of autistic children don't recognise that something is wrong until the child is 2 or 3 years old.

No it can only be diagnosed when a child is older go to the CDC website and it will tell you when the child can be tested. It can run in families. I use to be a aid for a 6 year old who was a low functioning autistic and his older brother was a autistic savant. Then you have that movie on life time where the two brothers both twins are autistic and both of them had different functioning levels. The movie was miracle run. So if your worried that your child may have autism because someone in your family is autistic I wouldn't worry about it to much because children who are autistic can still lead a life as normal as possible.

No because it is a function of the brain. Why would even think about something like this? You can get a amniocentesis and see if the child has down syndrome, but autism will not show up til the child is about 1 to 2 yrs old. Try not to worry about things like this. Will for a healthy baby!!

Test your stomach all you like but there isn't a baby in it.

There is no test for autism once children are born never mind for when they are in the womb.

Why would you want to anyway?

A child is a gift and with that gift you take any extras it may have wether that is autism or any other 'disorder'

Currently right now there is no prenatal test to determine autism. However, they are trying to perfect a test for it right now. This has caused some controversy among autistic groups however, because they feel mothers will use the prenatal testing to terminate fetus's that have the markers for autism.
