"Just" a Mom ? ? ?
A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk's Office was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.
She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.
"What I mean is," explained the recorder, "do you have a job or are you just a...?"
"Of course I have a job," snapped the woman. "I'm a Mom."
"We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation, "housewife covers it," said the recorder emphatically.
I forgot all about her story until one day..I found myself in the Same
situation, this time at our own Town Hall. The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient and posses sed of a high sounding title like, "Official Interrogator" or "Town Registrar."
"What is your occupation?" she probed.
What made me say it? I do not know. The words simply popped out. "I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations."
The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair and looked up
As though she had not heard right

First of all let it be known i'm pregnant with twins, almost 8 weeks now. My question is this...how soon in your pregnancy did you feel a "heavy" feeling below? like your lower abdomen is i mean..heavy! lmao, i know it sounds silly but everything i've read, i shouldnt be experiencing this until about week 10 or better. i understand i'm carrying twins but could it be something else like, consitpation? gas? anyone else experienced the heavy sensation so soon? and it came suddenly, it wasnt gradual at all, LOL! which is another reason i think it could be something else. i know there are no textbook pregnancies so i dont want to read a bunch of lectures, just wanted to know when u felt the heaviness. i'd love to hear from mothers of twins too.

please pray for my twins health
due 5.19.07

30-40 years ago many women graduated high school and married soon after. Many adults born in the 50’s and 60’s were children of parents who were in their late teens and early 20’s.

These young mothers seemed to raise their children just fine, in fact my grandparents were in their early 20’s when they had my parents, and my parents are great people with wonderful childhoods!

Now it seems like if a woman has her first child before her late 20’s everyone talks about how young she is and how she is wasting her youth.

What is with our society’s attitude towards young mothers? They are in their prime to have children, women are most fertile and healthy from 18-24 for a reason!

In 10 years are people going to say a 30 year old is crazy to think about having her first baby and that is too young?

What do you think?

Im 10 weeks pregnant with twins and im not severly sick, but i do have a lingering nausea throughout most days and the only thing that helps it is a cold icee (you know the frozen cokes or flavored drinks) and I know that this isn't good for you when pregnant, but does it hurt to have one a day?

Well I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was positive. I don't know what to do cuz my Birth Control pills (Ortho Tri Cyclen) seem to have failed me after two months of taking it. I'm soo confuses and have no idea how I'm going to tell my family and the guy. My mom has been through soo much that explaining it would bring tears to my eyes and this would just drive her nuts. I feel ashamed, she has always told me since I was 12 that I'm a bad kid cuz I like voicing my opinion and she was right. I'm a bad kid .I just feel like running away, I'm already so sad when it hasn't even been a day I want to wait a week to be really sure but by the I will probably loss about 10 pounds. Please if u have any advice please I need it cuz I’m lost. I'm 19 years old and have been with the guy for 1.5 years. I have goals and dreams but My world is falling upside down. IF your are a teen reading this please learn from me and protect yourself even if u are on the pill.

I missed my period last month, but it is not time yet for this month. I have been really nausious almost every morning for about two weeks, I don't always throw up but have that yucky feeling. Usually it wears off around noon. Last time I had sex was about 3 weeks ago(right before my period should have come).Should I wait to see if my period comes or get a test now?

Yesterday was the 1st time I had intercourse and 3 hours afterwards I began to bleed and it wasn't the period kind. It lasted for a lil bit and my tummy was rumbling(like if I needed to do poop) and having soft cramps like if I was on my period (except my period cramps are killers), I couldn't sleep most of the night either. My last period was on Sept.19 and I'm not really sure how this whole ovulation thing works so I don't know if I had a good chance of getting pregnant. Anywho, my questions are:
Could I be pregnant this soon?
If so, how long should I wait until I test?
If not, then why did I bleed?

Im asking my question becuase I really want to have another child...I have a 2 year old daughter and i thought now would be the perfect time to have another one, i dont want them to be to far apart, the only thing stopping me is my weight. I've been trying to lose and it's not goin to great for me...so i've decided to get pregnant now becuase by the time i lose all the weight I would like, my daughter will have graduated highschool....My mom had told me when she was pregnant with me she lost 20 lbs. (during pregnancy) and i figure if i get pregnant , i will just eat alot healthier, fruits and veggies chicken and fish etc.... and excercise. So if i lose weight just doin that, is it bad? I'll be eating alot better than i am now..(junkfood queen)...i just really dont want to be gaining anymore weight than i have too and i want to lose if possible while still having a healthy beautiful baby....

My daughter is almost 2 years old and has had a big of a cough. Its mostly occuring at night while she is asleep and i've attempted to give her cough medicine however she refuses to take it. She will spit it out or throw it up.

I'm looking for suggestions on medicines (maybe ones that dont taste so bad or that your child prefers the taste of) or methods of getting your child to take this medicine. Do you mix it in juice or something?

10 points to best suggestion...

I have 3 children, an 11 year old boy, an 8 year old boy and a 6 year old girl and I think i may be pregnant again. My 2 boys are fine, my oldest is a math whiz and my middle child writes his own stories and makes up his own games but does have problems at school because he gets easily frustrated. My 6 year old daughter is in the Autism spectrum and I was wondering if anyone know what the chances are of having another child with Autism?

I opted out for the test for several reasons... One being that there are risk for false positive results and because there is nothing besides abortion that can be done if the test comes back positive. My question is if you had the test, why did you decide to? And if you had the test and it came back positive, how did you feel/what did you do?

as everyone knows, after the nine months of pregnancy are over, and when it's time to deliver the baby, the first thing that the baby does when he is born is crying,as soon as he is removed from his mother's stomach he starts screaming and if not, this means that the baby is not ok !!So why do you think that the baby cries...not for the reason to assure that he's ok,but why?Is there anything that happens to him and makes him scream?

I'm confused here. Had bleeding on Sep.2nd that lasted 3 days and was really light bleeding. If that was my period then i should have started my next period on Sep. 30th. I have had nothing yet.
My boobs are tender, dizzy out of nowhere, gassy, burpy, lower abdomen feels bloated, nipples have white spots in the middle.
