Ah! You must be so excited!

You wont feel them move ALL the time!
You should be able to feel it when the baby is having a good old stretch or wriggle around, but they do spend a really long time sleeping in there and you wont really feel them moving then.
Towards the end of your pregnancy they'll be keeping you awake wriggling around!
And just wait til they get hick-ups!
Any questions ask your doc or midwife, thats what they are there for!

Congratulations! You'll feel the baby whenever it moves - it'll only be occasionally at first - maybe once a day, maybe not at all for a couple of days (at this stage not feeling movement is OK).

Then, when the baby gets bigger you'll feel it moving more often - you may occasionally see the movement across your tummy as it slowly moves a limb. Sometimes you'll know the baby has been shocked by a loud noise as it'll jump and at some point you'll feel it have hiccups! It may do a head over heels and you'll really know about it! It'll often start to move just when you relax - the baby gets lulled to sleep by your movement and wakes up when you stop - that's why new babies like to be rocked to sleep.

All this is really sweet and you'll enjoy most of it...

Then, the baby will get really big; it'll kick you all night long in one spot (if you're really lucky just under your rib cage!) - (keeping you awake) until you're bruised black and blue and really tired and terribly uncomfortable and fed up...!

...although you won't really mind because it means your gorgeous baby is well and happy!

Good luck and enjoy your pregnancy.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Well odne - doesn't it feel amazing! Its such a wonderful feeling when you feelit for the first time. I'm nearly 25 weeks pregnant and I first felt it at 20 weeks. I felt bubbles once when i was about 12 weeks, but really knew it was the baby at 20 weeks. You won't feel it all the time. Remember it's still very small.
Now I can feel it whenever its awke and has even started patterns of sleeping and moving, but there's still movments I can't feel yet cos my baby is still small.
When I was 20 weeks, for a day i wouldn;t even feel it move, then the next day there would be more. Don't worry - its nothing to worry about - as it gets bigger you'll feel it more and more.
Good luck with your pregnancy! and in a couple of weeks you'll even start seeing your tummy move when it kicks and even feel it kick your hands! x

No you should not feel it constantly. In a few weeks you should start feeling baby kick several times a day and by the end of your pregnancy you'll have no worries about wether its kicking or not. I think a vague guide for you is about 10 kicks a day but not at 20 weeks(Im no midwife though), just going off experience

Trust me , after a few weeks you will be grateful for "only sometimes"!
Trouble is those sometimes are usually when you are trying to get comfortable and off to sleep!
If you later on get to the "I am so worried I cannot feel my baby kicking stage".....
Lay on your side with your hand under your bump. Give it a few minutes, up to ten sometimes and then you will feel the baby move.
Now that is magical; when you realise that everything is alright!!
Hope you and baby have a wonderful time growing together.

I didn't feel my baby move again for about three days after the first movement.

As your pregnancy progresses you will feel your baby more & more & the rule of thumb in the last few months is that you should be feeling your baby move at least 10 times a day.

Its hard to believe now but there will come a stage when you feel your baby move so frequently that you hardly notice it at all!!

depends on the child. In the beginning, he would totally kick me for several hours one day and then I would not feel him at all the next day. I also noticed the kicking slowed down when I was really relaxed. Now that I am 34 weeks prego and there is little to no room left in my belly - I feel everything. Though - I will feel movement for about 5-10 minutes and then nothing more for a few hours. Comes and goes. everyone is different.

It isn't all the time. You'll get used to the movements and might only notice them when you are sitting or standing still. If you are active you might totally miss the movements. The baby also has periods of sleep where you won't feel anything.

If you are concerned because you haven't felt any movement for 2 hours or more, drink some orange juice. If that doesn't work, call the doctor.

Beginning around 20 weeks, you should feel the baby's movements. By 26-28 weeks, you should be aware of some movement every day. Lack of movement could be a sign of a problem. Therefore, it is a good idea to pay close attention to whether or not the movement pattern has changed. "Fetal kick counts" are performed by monitoring the baby's movements for two hours after you have had a meal, and are able to relax and focus on what you feel. There should be at least one movement within two hours. If not, eat something sweet, lie on your left side, and monitor closely for one additional hour. If no movement is noted, go to Labor and Delivery.

No, it's just sometimes. At 20 weeks, you may only feel the baby move a time or two a day. As the baby gets older and bigger, you will feel him/her more often - many times a day.
