Are you usually right on time with your period? When I was pregnant with both my sons, the first indication that I was pregnant was my failure to start when I was due. And, I had cramping with BOTH of my pregnancies, which subsided after a few days. Good luck! You may be pleasantly surprised!

cramping does not mean that your period is coming for sure, it could very well mean you are pregnant. You should definitely take a pregnancy test and see what it says. If it does come out negative, and your period does come, mark it down, find out the days your ovulating again, and try again. I know how it feels to see the negative test, especially when you want it so bad. I remember crying in the bathroom for a long time just staring at the test.

Well your hormones are def. out of whack and running thick. Hence the cramps, sore boobs, and weight gain. So they could be running high from not having the release of your period yet, or you could be pregnant. Though symptoms don't usually show up so early in a pregnancy.
Since you're already late, your results would be pretty accurate with a home pregnancy test. Go for it girl. At least you'll know one way or another and you can let your mind rest. Good luck!

if you are pregnant and getting symptoms, you should be able to test now and get a positive result... the only thing I would be concerned about is the cramping... when I was pregnant I started to feel nausea. But a different kind, it felt more like motion sickness. Just take the test already!! I know how it feels to want something so bad and then feel like a complete failure when I didn't produce, but you can always keep on trying. Take the test, you don't want to suffer any longer (mentally)

Cramping without bleeding is an indication that you're getting very near to starting your cycle, or that you have other gynecological issues going on (like endometriosis, for example, but that's not the only reason). You could be preggers...I would take an early detection test to be sure. All the other things you described could also be due to your period, but not the gaining weight thing. You wouldn't have a significant weight gain in five days, and if you've been gaining before that, you've just been taking in a little more than usual. =)

If you are 5 days late then you need to take a pregnancy test!!!
Signs and symptoms can mean anything. You can cramp when you are pregnant (most women do) and you can cramp when your period is coming. Any symptom could be attributed to either possiblity so go take a test!!!

To be honest it sounds like you have the symptoms of pregnancy but the only way to find out is to take the test. Even cramping is not uncommon during implantation. I have always been able to tell I was preggo before taking a test. By the way, IMO the cheap dollar store tests will detect a + pregnancy before the expensive ones. They are actually capable of detecting lower levels of hormones.

(flashback to when HIS g/f's boobs hurt) *blink-blink* okay... DON'T panic... depending on if you're on a NORMAL cycle... (i've never understood how women KNEW that stuff...) or not... you should go n' get a stick test... but the key is BREAST TENDERNESS... holy smokes, that's really, really common... cramping really, really bad however is kind of a concern... but then again, i don't have any way to gauge your threshold for pain... the best idea, is to GET TESTED NOW!!! the sooner you know, the quicker you can get into a doctor and start pre-natal care... and if the test DOES come back negative, wait a few days if you haven't started yet, and take another one... should you happen to start your period, then so be it... there will come a day, when the lil' stick turns blue, and your whole world will change... good luck!!! (btw... "darren" is a cute name for a boy!)

No. Your body is always changing. Severe cramps can be alleviated with a lot of water. You just explained all of the syntoms of a woman preparing to get pregnant...otherwise known as your period.
Increased appetite is due to you ovulating and preparing to support a new life.
Weight gain due to water retention. Happens to a lot of people.
Boobs hurt because your period may be coming on.
but there is a small chance. Just don't stress and relax. This will either confirm you are pregnant or cause period to come on
