Im asking my question becuase I really want to have another child...I have a 2 year old daughter and i thought now would be the perfect time to have another one, i dont want them to be to far apart, the only thing stopping me is my weight. I've been trying to lose and it's not goin to great for me...so i've decided to get pregnant now becuase by the time i lose all the weight I would like, my daughter will have graduated highschool....My mom had told me when she was pregnant with me she lost 20 lbs. (during pregnancy) and i figure if i get pregnant , i will just eat alot healthier, fruits and veggies chicken and fish etc.... and excercise. So if i lose weight just doin that, is it bad? I'll be eating alot better than i am now..(junkfood queen)...i just really dont want to be gaining anymore weight than i have too and i want to lose if possible while still having a healthy beautiful baby....

Why don't you just eat like you are already pregnant, & lose the weight now? Instead of confirming yourself as a junk food queen?
You shouldn't actually try to lose weight during pregnancy. I did in the first trimester, but gained it all back in the 2nd & 3rd, but I wasn't trying to do any of it! Just eat healthy & get the excercise now! It will be better for you even to conceive.

It is possible you will lose weight early in your pregnancy. Some women lose weight because they have such bad morning sickness and some lose weight because they change their lifestyle to a healthier one, as you are considering. I'd start eating healthy and exercising now, and start trying to conceive. When you do get pregnant, ask your doctor at your first prenatal visit about how much weight they would like to see you gain. I was overweight when I got pregnant with both of my babies and was told 20 pounds was a good amount of weight to gain. With my fist daughter I lost 15 pounds in the hospital after giving birth, so I only had 5 pounds of baby weight to lose afterwards. You might also consider breastfeeding after the baby comes because it burns an extra 500 calories a day, and that is very helpful when you are recovering and can't exercise. Do not starve yourself when you are pregnant. You will need to gain weight but you can make yourself healthier by eating right.

when my mom was pregnant, she lost 4 lbs, from her pre-pregnancy weight, so she didnt gain anything at all with my brother. With my daughter, i gained 70 lbs, and was told with the next pregnancy the weight is harder to take off. We'll see how it goes this time around. I am 4 weeks and a few days, and I have lost 7 lbs already, but I think it was because in the last 2 months I have been losing weight rapidly, and it just hasnt stopped yet.

You need to change your eating habits before you get pregnant. And any changes you make while pregnant you must check with your doctor. Pregnancy is not a good time to lose weight, although I know people who have, but they were overweight to start with (by over 100 pounds).

Your main goal during your pregnancy should be the health and well being of the baby, and dieting is not a way to achieve that.

As long as you aren't PURPOSELY losing weight by dieting then you will be fine. I am overweight to start with & tend to crave even more veggies when pregnant so I tend to lose weight. Why not start eating better now & then start trying to get pregnant that way you'll aready be in the 'good eating" mode & it will be a habit you can continue after you have the baby. I lost 15 lbs with my first, gained nothing 7 still had a 8 lbs 11 oz baby. With my second I did gain but only 13 lbs & she was 8lbs 3 oz.

I've tried everything i can not lose weight when I'm pregnant. I have gained from the beginning. I wish i could lose weight. I exercise and eat right and everything. After so long in your pregnancy your baby gains an ounce a day so you won't be able to lose weight then . Prob. more likely in the beginning.

it is better to lose the weight before you get pg. I never have heard of anyone losing weight while pg. Not saying you can't do, but I just have never heard of it. I am sure you can because the Dr. says that you can do moderate exercise and things like that as long as you are not a high risk pregnancy. I would try to lose as much as you can before you get pg. then do the rest while you are pg.

I actually just found out I am pregnant and am still losing weight. I think I am about 8 weeks along.

I guess its okay as long as you are getting the right nutrients that your baby needs.

Yes it is possible for you to lose weight while you're pregnant. As far as your changing eating habits and exercise routine, please consult your dr. to make sure that you will be getting enough essential vitamins, minerals, iron, and what not for the baby. And check with your dr. to find out what exercises can be done and how to do them correctly with a baby inside of you. Remember to do your keagels to. You just don't want to diet and exercise if your baby could end up paying the price. So please consult with your dr. first.
