Similar thing happened to me, except no one cared that I was in pain and did not top off my meds or try to give me another epidural. I never felt numb at all. The anesthesiologist kept rubbing an alcohol pad on my face and my leg asking me if it felt different and I said not really and she was kind of like "oh well". I felt everything too, including the stitches to fix my tear before I finally screamed at my dr. to at least numb me so I did not feel the stitches as I had already been through enough. Another funny (well not so funny story) is that when it was time to push I guess I was not doing it right at first and the nurse said she was going to turn off my epidural. I just laughed and told her "turn it off, it was never working". (I only had to push for 45 minutes so I dont think I could have been doing that bad a job). As far as I am concerned I had my baby naturally. I am currently past due with my second child and glad that I have a different dr. and will be delivering at a different hospital, and plan on asking for my epidual a lot sooner than last time so hopefully they will have time to get it done right this time around. I will be induced on Friday if I dont go into labor before then.

EPIDURALS DONT ALWAYS WORK AND IN YOUR CASE I WOULD SAY NO IT DIDNT.
I had an epidural with my first and i could still feel pressure allowing me to know when i was having a contraction but didnt feel pain and i couldnt feel my legs at all
With my 2nd daughter i had her so quickly from 3 cm to born in less than an hour, i got no pain releif at all there was no time, and it felt completly different, it was like a tearing burning sensation, but a lot worse, so it sounds as though you had the baby natural.
Well done

I'm sorry, but I would call that a vaginal birth but not a natural birth. Whether or not the epidural worked the way you wanted, the drugs were still in your system and reached your baby.

With my daughter's birth, I had antibiotics for being GBS+ and the lowest dose of Pitocin and the lowest dose of Stadol available, just at the end. I consider that a successful vaginal birth. (18 hours, 7 lbs. 12 oz., 20 inches long.)

With my son's waterbirth, I had no medications whatsoever, either prophylactically or for pain relief. I consider that a successful natural birth. (9 hours, 10 lbs. 4 oz, 21.5 inches long -- and I tore much less with him than I did with dd, thanks to the waterbirth and relaxation techniques we used.)

YES YOU HAD IT NATURAL!!! Only when they give you a c-section is it not natural. This happened to me as well with my 2nd child, the slightest movement made the epidural come out from where they put it, therefore the meds. where not going where they were suppose to be, thats why you felt the pain. With my 1st child, I USED nothing at all!!!!!!!! And they 2nd child I was like, CALL THAT MAN IN HERE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah you pretty much did. That happens to a lot of women actually. My best friend had her baby last year and they tried 4 times to get the epidural to work and they just couldn't. Luckily for me, they got it the first time! Although they took it out before I had to push so I still felt about 75% of that.

You might want to check with your doctor about this because you want to be prepared if this happens next time you have a baby. It sounds to me like you had the baby naturally. If you felt everything, that's what natural childbirth is. I had an epidural and my legs tingled, wouldn't move and I didn't feel myself tear.

I went in a verify-up, three days beyond my due date. I used to be nonetheless best two cm dilated. My surgeon scheduled me to be triggered four days later, which I used to be now not comfortable approximately. I went dwelling and an hour later I idea I had rainy myself. Got wiped clean up and it occurred once more an hour later. I did not suppose so much of it considering the fact that I wasn't in any suffering and wasn't getting any contractions. That used to be at approximately 10:00am. I went with my stepfather to take my little brother for his two month pictures. I sat within the ready room for 2 hours and whilst I received up I felt a trickle, soaked by way of a pad and the whole lot else, so I walked correct over to hard work and supply and sat there for a different hour earlier than I used to be visible. When the nurse used to be checking me, my water broke completly and I used to be admitted. I wasn't dilating and my contractions needed to be triggered. I began pushing at 9am the following morning. I driven for three hours earlier than I used to be advised that I wanted a c-segment. My son used to be born at a million:04pm that afternoon through c-segment. He's 6 months historical now.

cant really answer the question about the epidural because i never had it.
i do highly recommend the gas and air though i used this with all four of my children it doesnt take the pain away completly but it does take the edge off kind of makes you feel like you floating its great stuff

yep you had him naturally! I want to have my second child naturally. When i had my epidural with my daughter i felt absolutely nothing at all pain that is. When it was time to have her i knew because i had to push like if i had to use the bathroom really bad. If you could go naturally so could i. Also, i didn't feel anything during the delivery. Yep, you had your baby natural.
