Do you see the war as a serviceman with half his limbs blown off (as I do) or as a serviceman with half his limbs intact (as our President does)?

I'm looking to join the United States Navy as an Information Intelligence Systems Officer. I have taken the practice ASVAB, and I got a score of 88. I'd like to know exactly how I need to score in which sections. Also, when I go to MEPS, what all will be checked? Will the fact I have to wear glasses disqualify me or anything? Thanks. :)

it seems to me through research that around 2,500-3,000 troops have died compared to insurgent deaths which are way higher i havent been able to find an exact number

do u think that this war is alot safer and has way fewer deaths than vietnam, world war I & II, other wars in the 18th century

And I’m not proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I've already forgetten the men who died, who gave that "right" to me.
And I’d won't stand up next to you nor defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I dislike this land

All the pageantry, pomp and circumstanies, courtgalities, I am figuring 99% of the people they DON'T want to be there at what ever ceremonie is going on. Be it change of command, Promotion, etc. Unless it's a funeral and you didn't like the person they are laying to rest..

A friend is looking at a possible recall, and I want to know how it will affect his wife. They live in Colorado, but if he's recalled he will have to return to North Carolina.

Is she, in any way at all, obligated to go with him? I mean legally, or culturally, or whatever. Can she stay in Colorado when he reports, or does she need to be with him? If she must be with him when he reports, is she then free to return to her home in Colorado? If he ultimately deploys oversees, does it matter where she lives?

Really, I'm looking for as much information about this as I can. I'm not military, so I'm interested in what her obligations are on all levels; legally, culturally, etc.

Thank you.

Hello everyone.

Im a 25 y/o Asian male. Im currently taking Paxil for anxiety, mainly because I had a hard time falling asleep at night. I have 2 refills left, and after I finish them, I am going to have my doctor take me off. Ive done research on this, and ive read you have to be off for a year, before you can even start the enlistment process. I also read at another website that it stated you have to be off for at least 6 months!!! Is this true?|I hope it truley is. I am currently a senior in college and will graduate in June of 08, and want to leave for BCT that month. Im 25 going on 26 and Im not getting any younger. I know I am a bit old as most new recruits are 17-18, but it took me this long to mature enough to follow my dream.

Does anyone know the real length of time? Thanks everyone, I appreciate this.

My husband and some friends are stationed in Manas, Kyrgyzstan... What would be some nice things to send them... That CAN be shipped safely and will not get them in trouble.... This is The first deployment for us, So any ideas would be Greatly Appreciated... And Thanks to those of you who answer this and to those of you who answered my previous question...

Wouldn't it be good for us to have a military presense in the region after it is stablized, and we're not getting killed there anymore? Wouldn't our being there discourage the islamo fasists from stirring up trouble? We're probably going to have to deal with Iran and Syria eventually, so why do we want to leave Iraq?

Weve seen how people in that region can hold grudges for decades and never get tired of it. I'd rather not be stuck there for 50 years. Couldn't we be out in more like 5 years if we seperated the Sunni and Shia?

If you think the Pentagon, and this Administration, really takes our soldiers in Iraq seriously, take a guess as to how many Medals of Honor have been awarded since the "war" began.

Hint: A soldier was 122 times more likely to be awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam and 232 times more likely in World War II.
