Weve seen how people in that region can hold grudges for decades and never get tired of it. I'd rather not be stuck there for 50 years. Couldn't we be out in more like 5 years if we seperated the Sunni and Shia?

Separate Iraq into 3 states.

A northern oil-rich Kurdish state.

A central Baghdad district-state to be the financial hub of the country, which will be overseen by the Sunnis.

And a southern Basra state in the oil-rich part of the south that will be overseen by Shi'ite Iraqis.

From what I see, this is the best option and hope for a stable Iraq.

There are 18 provinces to the country, but I am not sure it would be in the best interests to break the country into 18 states. Most of the provinces have very few people living in them.

It would be logical and would get rid of the piece of geographic fiction which the British created in the early 1920s. Before they fused everything together there were three separate nations: The Kingdoms of Mosul, Babylon and Basra. Roughly the three distinct areas there are today in terms of religious persuasion and ethnicity. Creating three semi-autonomous areas of Kurdistan, North Mesopotamia and South Mesopotamia along the loose lines of the Swiss or Çanadian confederation models would help a great deal. The key is to ensure that the oil revenues are divided up in a fair way.

regrettably, the geographic region of Iraq is easily per a tribal / religious divisions. it may as though dividing long island city on a catholic / protestant foundation given the Sunni / shite affair. maximum could be secure yet some could be exceeded over (IE., Jewish/ Muslim faith). on each and every occasion politics are in touch, right here and in a foreign country, greed and delight are at stake to 3 point. Vendettas are being settled. previous grudges are being carried out that are probably older than myself. weapons are lots and presented by ability of outdoors materials/ pastimes. The Kurds of the north could choose to form their very own usa, yet this could be on the fee of Turkey which has its very own inner Kurd usa. Turkey could ought to resign land for a geographical branch. Dividing this section into geopolitical areas could require the circulation of peoples/ agencies/ mosques which maximum are no longer acceptable. attempt thinking of shifting your individuals and relatives around the rustic to fulfill a circulation.

I think Iraq will be eventually divided up, either politically or by brutal, bloody war. The question is, will Iran just jump in and grab the Shiite province for their own!
The other question is, will "Kurdistan" try to steel part of Turkey and start world war III?

No, but I've said before that we would make dozens of friends if we would just split the country between all the surrounding nations. Even Iran would thank us. And we would wipe our hands of the issue.

A secular government would be the ideal situation. If this isn't possible, divide it up, because this latest fiasco will never improve !

they would end up being annexed by one country or the attempted invasion of them would just start another war in the middle east, these small countries would not be able to defend themselves
