Why not put them in Russia instead of two of Russia's two least loyal allies? Why not let Russia defend the area themselves and eliminate the escalation of the Cold War?...Or is this what Bush wants?

Although no Iraqi's were involved in the atrocities of 9/11 and according to the 9/11 commission Iraq had no links to the attack and most notably Al Qaeda.

Why did we go to war with Iraq?
Was it WMD's? No
Saddam Hussein stated that the UN disarmed the majority of his Arsenal in the 90's...the reason he kept stating he had these weapons was not the likelihood of another American led attack but one from Iran. He was wary of what the Shia led government could do to the Sunni minority led Iraqi establishment.

Oil? Maybe
The 2 biggest contractors in Iraq today are American companies, one being Halliburton which has strong links to the American administration.

Did Iraq pose a threat to the west? No
Even the botched Iraq dossier by Blair and his numpties concluded that although they "sexed up" the document, Iraq posed no threat to us in the West.

Why does the US Navy have a submarine base on the Holy Loch in Argyleshire, Scotland. When the Cold War is supposedly over I would have thought the base would have been mothballed years ago. Also is it true that the Submarine base is a nuclear base?

Is my only job now to be supportive and be a good mother and spouse?? I would go to school but now I cant because now we will be moving everytime my husband gets a new duty station. As far as careers go to.I wouldnt be able to keep a job if we're gonna move in a year.Maybe at a fast food place or walmart.I did plan to go to college but decided to work & travel for a while 1st.Then I met my husband and now we have a son.He joined the Army a week after our son was born.So now what.I knew it would've been hard to go to school & take care of my son which I was prepared to do.But now if Im going to be moving every year or 2-3 years how can I.Could I go to school in 1 state then keep transferring everytime we move?? I heard of people losing credits like that.

I know that a service member is allowed one cosmetic surgery while in the military, but what about the spouse?

I have really low self esteem when it comes to my breasts. Every time I look at them I always see something wrong, (i.e.: they're not big enough, they're not perky enough, my nipples don't look like they're in the right place). I would like to get a breast augmentation, but I currently live in Germany and I would not like to go off base to a civilian clinic.

Does anyone (current, non or former military) have any information that could help me out?

Im not sure if its just me but people just keep on trying to improve weapons and weapons only. Why dont they improve protective gear for the soldiers? 1 Soldier is more important then a advanced weapon. For an example they should make like metal suits for infantry and very bullet proof protective which give more chance of survival. why wont they work on that instead of killing machines for war...

My recruiter told me a lot of things that he is starting to back out on, such as guaranteeing me a job. I know that I am already in the DEP for the army. Is there any way to get out and reenlist in another/or the same branch just with another recruiter. It seems to have become a he said/ she said types of deals. Everyone tells me that the only thing I can do is to just go or to get a separation from the army and reenlist. I just now nfound out that the only way to get a guarantee is for the recruiter to sign it in writing! Please tell me what I can do?

Sure jets fly fast but a rock could probably fly at those speeds, while jets do take more awareness of your equipment. I know helicopter pilots make the joke of 'how fast can a jet pilot fly backwards'

suddenly stopped talking to me after he found out I'd had a baby. He knew I was married, and I guess it's possible that the timing is coincidental, but it really bothers me. I keep writing him anyway, and I've told him that I'll continue to support him until he tells me to get lost. I just don't understand it, and it really hurts my feelings. Any insights?

I found this story so sad. Please read:
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20070409/kors
This poor soldier along with many others were robbed of everything thanks to the military, government, and war. Discharged without health benefits or pension after risking their lives and nearly giving them for our country. Makes me sick to my stomach. You all know the military does profound mental checks before signing people up. So it is completely ludacris for them to use this "pre-existing condition" nonsense. They ruin soldiers lives just to save money when they are the reason they are messed up in the first place. Our military, govt, and president doesn't give a sh*t about the troops. In their opinion they don't have lives, families, or futures. To them all they are is a number and a pawn in their game of chess. :(

I have my 4 yr. college degree and I'm going to enlist so i can start at the bottom and work my way up, try to become a commissioned officer after I enlist. My degree is TV/Radio but am very interested in seeing what other jobs are worth looking at. I will score in the 90s on my ASVAB so I will probably have my pick. The incentives are starting to play a bigger role, i.e. signing bonus, etc. as I get closer to signing. NO LECTURES ON (1) I should go into OCS or (2) You shouldn't join or do anything for money, ( I want what's mine.)

My favorite memories is night fire and getting issued my M-16. I remember having to name it. I named mine Claude and the Drill Sergent asked me why did I name it Claude and I went blank. I remember getting dropped for it. Boy, I did not like my drill sergent!!

Ok first off I am very mad that people say that most people who are in the military are there because their lives are terrible and/or they are not very smart. Here what I am and are wondering what branch to join. I am coming into the military not for the money or to escape life. I am extremely smart and I could care less about the money, my family is financially independent. I want a job that will put my smarts to the test as well as my physical self, and I am really interested in ground combat. Is there a group like that like the navy seals or something where I could be of use?
