QUOTE "Foreign powers are clearly failing in Afghanistan; they neither won hearts and minds nor contributed to the stability and rebuilding of the country in any meaningful way, says Ramzy Baroud."

I know the British troops place huge importence on winning hearts and minds based on 35 years of TRIED AND TESTED experience in Northern Ireland, but, with so many Allies having thier own agendas, could those be sending out mixed messages resulting in the ultimate goal taking longer to acheive?

I know they dont provide furniture but Im asking if they provide some kind of leased 2 week-4 week furniture while you look for furniture.Im moving to Ft.Campbell KY and I currently live in Guam. Its very hard to find furnished apartments online.I found so many nice places but they are unfurnished. When we 1st stay in the lodging they will only provide it 10 days free then we'll have to pay.So Im looking for places now before we get there.Which is very hard because the time difference. My husband is in the Army & he is out in the feild for 30 days w/no comminication. So its all left up to me to find the place and infomation.I could go to the base and try to do everything in 10 days but why not try to be prepared.Since its our 1st move we dont have furniture to go with us.We worked on a ship and lived with our parents on vacation so we never had furniture.

1. OK I really want to be in the Navy and cant wait. But since I am in the Delayed Entry Program(DEP) I have time to finish school first. ok when I enlisted I didnt get the job I wanted but my recruiter says that I can change my job over while in the DEP, he says that I will have to redo some paper work and make other contract. Ok is that possible

2. If I dont get the job I want is it possible to just get out of the DEP and not go to my ship-out-date. I heard that you can send a letter to someone and not go and you just get a discarge and something about GI rights but does anyone know more about that.

P.S. 10 points to whoever helps me the most.

Is it awkward or uncomfortable? Do they get defensive or do they just want to forget about it? Are they apologetic? Are opinions varied or generally the same. I know personally I would probably think it a little rude to bring it up, but has it ever come up in conversation?

When you think about it alot of people live that way every day and have done so for all of time. Hitting someone who is about to hit you - nailing them and rendering them incapable of hurting you in any way. Of course you have to prove it or make it look plausible that they were indeed going to. Look what happened when this was not used - there has not been another attack inside the US since this policy was carried out.
