currently, the Air Force is not taking any Prior Service or Other Service vets. so no, you cannot go from CG to AF at this time. and probably not for a while.
additionally, you would have to be released from yoru CG reserve unit before you could even attempt it.

Yes you can once you finish your enlistment but why do you want to switch over?
If you want the Air Force, then join the Air Force.
I've been in the Coast Guard for 19 years and never even thought of switching to another service even when the Navy offered me 30K for coming over, I said no. The Coast Guard is a proud service and the people that serve here are proud Americans. If you want to switch, then don't join!

If authorized by means of the Air stress and Coast shelter definite you are able to go service. various factors are weighed scarcity interior the dropping and gaining service play a substantial roll. even though that's been executed. even though that's much less complicated in case you end your present day enlistment then connect the Coast shelter. refer to a CG recruiter first.

If the Air Force needs you and has the same rate as what you are striking for and you met all the criterion yes. But why would you? is it a salt water thing? I knew a sailor who was allergic to salt water, no kidding, and he was a crew man on a helicopter he was in the Navy because the Air Force was full on the day he enlisted.
So good luck.

You can do a conditional release, or just serve your time in the Coast Guard, ETS, and then go Air Force.

The above replier is correct. The AF is not taking any prior enlisted members. not now and not for a long time. You will love the CG, I promise! My broher has been active duty for about 6 years now and LOVES it! He started as a Desiel Mechanic and is now cross training into search and rescue.

The AirForce has not taken any prior service for about 5 years now. But the Army is now taking any Tom, Dick, and Harry so the AirForce might change their standards also and let prior service into the AirForce.

You can always lat move to another service except to the Marine Corps. They will make you go through their bootcamp. If you do lat move to the Air Force, you may loose whatever bonus you tried to get.
