This is a serious question. Just yesterday, one of the guys I work with commented on how "tough it was for Mr. Bush to land on that aircraft carrier". I really couldn't believe anyone was naive enough to still think that was true. Just checking to see if any of you guys thought it was true, too.

My poor choice of words, forgive me. I should have stated "was flying and landed the jet". So many people think that he was the pilot and not the passenger.

His little AirForce outfit led many to think he was of some significance to the landing of the plane.

I am astonished that you didn't mention the half gainer that he performed off of the air carrier after his photo op.

Perfectly, I might add.

Nope, never thought he piloted the plane, passenger yes, that plane landed on a carrier, yes. Though I've heard some people ask what was the name of the 'battleship' Bush landed on, goes to show the the level of intelligence on that side as well (especially if they can't determine the difference between a battleship and an aircraft carrier).

When the President spoke from the aircraft carrier, he specifically thanked the pilot for the ride, and said he got to take the controls for a bit... I haven't heard of anybody believing he landed the plane on the carrier... Just goes to show folks will believe anything they think they see on TV... But there was never any misleading about it... or trying to make it look as if he had landed it. For goodness sake, carrier landings are one of the most dangerous things our military pilots do! Of COURSE he didn't land the plane...

I've never heard anyone, at anytime, claim Bush was at the flight controls when the plane landed. The pilot did claim that he let Bush take the stick for a few minutes while they were flying straight and level at flight altitude. That's entirely believable considering Bush was at one time qualified to fly high performance military jet aircraft.

If listening to the Limbaugh show makes me a "dittohead," but I know he didn't land the plane. The media even reported that he was the "back seat," but that the pilot did let him take the stick for a short time while enroute to the carrier.

Just because Bush was a pilot does not mean he can land on a carrier. He has never landed on a carrier before and did not do so then. Navy pilots get extra training in carrier landings, it's not something you can do just because you're a pilot.

Actually the great part you all are leaving out is the Carrier he landed on was returning from 250 days off the coast of Iraq with no ports. The president decided to pull that stint the day before they where supposed to pull in. So 20 miles off the coast of California they where ordered to turn around steam all night until they where out of sight of land. So the president would look better. This delayed the ships homecoming 5 days. All so the president could look cool.

I can confirm that he did get in an S-3 and took off from NAS North Island. Technically he did not land it, the pilot did, but he was onboard the aircraft when it took it's trap. Why would anyone believe it was staged?

Now this is good the conspiracy non-thinkers are trying to say that carrier was what in a movie studio. He landed there and spoke to actual troops and yes the mission of destroying the Iraq military and putting the Bath party out of power was mission accomplished. Just as in Germany mission was accomplished but there was occupation for years later due to Nazi's still gunning down Allied troops.

At the time this happened I didn't hear ONE person, liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican, CNN, FOX or MORON make any statement that would have led me to believe the President was flying the aircraft when it caught the wire.

BTW, that list includes the President and Limbaugh.
