Specialize in weapons for about five years and you will already be hired as a mercenary.

Being a mercenary is illegal under international and federal law, so you can never be a mercenary legally, and it certainly would have nothing to do with your military service. Also your a female which also decreases your odds.
The only way you could legally be a 'Mercenary' is for the United States as part of a private security firm in Iraq, and that would require you to be ex-military special forces, which is at present impossible due to your gender if you are in fact female. If you are not, and that was a totally seperate question, then approximately 2 special forces terms, with honorable discharge. But there won't be any jobs by then because iraq will be over in the intervening decade or so. (I hope)
Hope that helps!

I don't know of a mercenary job title which is a part of the military. A mercenary is a gun for hire so in all technicality would you not all ready be a mercenary when you join the infantry sense the military is paying you to fight for them.

Gears of War is not true. its just a game.
if you think you are bad, then you should look up info and try to get into the BUD/S program. thats the program you have to go through to be a Navy SEAL. oh and btw, only like 20% actually make it through.
never mind, i just saw that you are a female. you cant do BUD/S you could always do Navy EOD. Explosive Ordinance Disposal. they are pretty bad too.

It's highly unlikely that it would ever happen. I suppose if you showed amazing potential, as in you rocked the PT test, never whined, got perfect scores on all of your tests, shot expert at all the ranges, and then tried to break through the whole gender barrier to joining the infantry... Maybe you could try to join Special Forces after that.
Good luck to you. :)
