AIT is an Army term. In USAF it's just Tech School or Technical Training
Depends on your AFSC.
Mine As a Aircraft Sheet Metal Tech lasted a total of 5 months. Some careers were 12 months and some were even 4 weeks. It all depends on what your doing. After all it takes a bit more training to Maitain a muli-million dollar Aircraft the say do Clerical Work for the Personnal Office. No Offense to the CBPO Men and Woman

First off, it's called Tech School. Your school could last from as little as four weeks up to a year, depending on your AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code). That's like MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) in the US Army. Don't volunteer for Combat Control if you want a short school, the pipeline is 35 weeks.

Don't worry about it. It's probably so nice that you would want to stay there forever. Marines say: Hoorah....Army says: Hoowah.....Navy say: Ooyah.....& Air Force says: Gettin' Paid Gettin Paid.
