When the job is done. Which means, I have no idea. When is the job done? When what happens? Seriously, can someone explain to me when the job is done? What has to happen to say the job is done? I really want to know.
Oh, please don't tell me it is when they are self sufficient. We destroyed everything, turned their people against each other to start a civil war, then we also killed too many people for them ever to have enough people to actually protect their own country. We will be training them until 2020 if we were waiting for them to be self sufficient.
How can they police themselves when the country is in civil war? How can they protect themselves from another country? They can't. They won't be able to for a while if ever. Al Qaeda will take over as soon as we leave.

My prediction (complete conjecture!) is that we will leave 2-3 permanent division in Iraq. I would expect that they will be there for at least the next 10-15 years.
One can only hope that the radical Islamics will get used to the idea of us there, as part of the problem is that the thought of US troops being permanently stationed in Iraq is one of the things that piss them off and make them want to kill us. It's kind of a catch-22.
Ultimately, however, if we do build permanent bases there, we'll be able to make Iraq a 12 month hardship tour like we do Korea, where someone might get stationed there once or twice in a career, intead of doing a 12 month tour with 9 months at home before going back for another 15 months like we're looking at now.

The USA is not in IRAQ. the US military is in Iraq until a stable government is set up and fully fuctioning, so the US military does not have to invade and destory the mock government for the third time.
Talk about a run on sentence

Well the military will probably never leave completely. We haven't completely left any country that we went to war with. We have soldiers stationed in germany, korea, etc. Though when things are at least somewhat stabilized they will pull the majority of the troops out.

We will leave when the job is done - when the military and police of Iraq are strong enough to fight for themselves.

Never, we are there to bolster the new Iraqi Gov. until it gets control of its own people and is able to protect its self from others. After this we will then be given a military base or two as payment for our efforts and we will stay there forever.

When we've done our jobs. The Iraqi Police needs to be fully trained, same with their military, and the government needs to be on a solid foundation.
