Iam a 25 V know. Went to college (grad in 2003) for Graphic Communications and design. Signed up for Active Army in 05. Now work with AFN (broadcasting) not my job buts a good learning experience. I would like to reenlist after I've been in for a a few years...better said do a different job. Im not doing the career thing. Great for others not me. This is merely a stepping stone on the path to my life as a civilian. I would like getting experience in alot of fields and I was thinking to sticking with media. Preferably 46Q Public affairs specialist. The catcher I fell in love, I would like to be close to my fiance. How can I get to work to be stationed with him or close to him (a states distance at most).
I want to be able to know what MOSs' can go where. If it helps he's going to reup as an 88U. Both are fields are overstrengthed...so will that help me change MOS even if my time in my current MOS isn't up yet?

Yea, you know what I mean. When you were in high school, those army guys came around for career day. Yea, yea, yea they told us all the great things about the military. Money for school, great service to country. great benefits, learning discipline. What they don't tell you is, well if you die in war, you won't get any money for college. When you come home from war, you could end up on the street because that's how we treat vets. You may come back without a limb. You may not get the best care available( remember that story a few months back). Oh yea, well if you get Vet benefits, you probably won't receive Social Security, although you paid into it. You can't get more than one check, although you sacrificed your life to protect our country from people we just happened to decide to fight for no apparent reason. See, this is what they don't tell you. You will join, but you won't fight( that's what they told my friend.) How can you spend college money dead? At least tell the whole truth.

Out of all the things that I constantly read or hear about the "war" in iraq is the fact that everyone is focusing on those that make the decisions.....no one understands what our troops are going through. Media outlets hardly report the fact that our troops are being killed. Those same people will say that "insert a soldiers name" was killed in Iraq and "he/she was from insert town". Those soldiers that arent killed and instead lose a limb or limbs due to an IED are rarely if ever reported on. It took the Walter Reed Hospital debacle to shine the light on our soldiers that are recovering from losing limbs or what have you.

The one thing I find seriously flawed is that you never see politicians or celebrities children volunteering to go over to Iraq and sacrafice themselves for their country. Are these people too good to serve their country, the country that has afforded them their celebrity status?

My friend and I were having a discussion at school about wars and stuff, and the subject of the States came up. Not knowing much besides the more recent wars they were in, I didn't want to talk about **** I know nothing about.

To the Americans here, are there any wars in history where you weren't the aggressors who initially attacked somebody else but were instead attacked first? The War of 1812, Vietnam, and the Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts were the only wars I could come up with at the top of my head that you guys were in (besides of course World Wars 1 and 2 which didn't directly concern you), but in all of these wars you guys started it.

When the USA attacks Syria, and or Iran, and a massive quantity of weapons of mass "debate" are unearthed, will you apologize to the Honorable Mr Bush and Mr Cheney, or will you keep on being naive and say they belong to Syria and Iran?

Story link to dissuade liberal "whining"
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/06/12/war.deadline/index.html?eref=yahoo

quote 1
Senate Democrats will once again try to impose timetables for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Tuesday.
quote 2
However, President Bush would have the power to waive that requirement.(timetables)
quote 3
Some Democrats critical of the president's handling of the war have been pushing to rescind that authorization(2003)
1.) Since when did ex post facto legislation become legal in this country?
2.) Since the president can waive this, what possible use is this debate OTHER than grandstanding
3.)Notice that the pork barreling from the last time and the OVERT move by the pelosi/reid regime to stop debate on the 36000 carded (pork) requests are not talked about by Reid AT ALL?
4.)Since Cindy Sheehan sold out in Tex. for a profit and Nancy P. sold out for a jet any thought on what Harry wants for his sure sellout?

If a plain, ordinary civilian's life was in peril and so was the commander-in chief's (not political, just any elected c-i-c). And it was up to you save one of them. Who would you attempt to save the American or the politician?

Once again, this is a serious question. Let's try to keep politics out of this. Please no name-calling answers or sacrasism. You could help me win some cash on this one. I've got a bet a work on your answers.

Thank you.

Note: I see the family all the time and when they put their son away after the military funeral they ask all people to be happy he died doing what he loved. They said ( In Newspaper article) "We want all to laugh and be over joyed when they think about our wonderful son". Our son was a happy man and we want all to be happy over our son. So, When I meet them should I laugh?

Kurtz is trying to say how in war, to defeat a ruthless enemy you must be just as ruthless, but that will never happen because US troops in Iraq will never use the same tactics as the insurgents, because as he explains, "It is judgement that defeats us."

It is judgement that will defeat the US in Iraq. US troops cannot use the same ruthless tactics because of the judgement of the American people.
