There could be a lot of humorous answer to this question (a couple have already been posted).

The answer is Yes there are prostitutes in Iraq. There are both Iraqi prostitutes, civilians that work with the military and some in the military.

The civilians and those in the military are not over here for that purpose and do it as a second "job" (no pun intended). If caught, the civilians could be fired and removed from the country.

For those in the military, it is a crime. They & their customers (if military) can be prosecuted under the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice). I have only heard rumors and stories. But where there are stories; there might be some truth. I know that from listening to soldiers talk and having seen the consequences that have resulted, there most likely is some truth to the stories. I would also say it is rare.

I have witnessed Iraqi prostitution only three times in Iraq.
The 1st time was in Basra right after the ground war ended in Desert Storm. I saw women lined up on the side of the road with their children at their side. They would point to their mouths and their childrens mouths with one hand and with the other hand point to their privates parts. In one heartwrenching case I saw one woman going back and forth pointing to her privates and to those of the little girls standing next to her. All because they were hungry. (note-we gave them all MREs as that was all we had)

The 2nd time was in Baghdad in 2003-2004 just outside of one of the entrances to the Green Zone. She was a poor homeless retarded girl (15-17 years old) who lived on the streets. She would solicite people lined up to get work & the soldiers who worked the gate.

The other time was in Ad Diwaniya about 95 miles south of Baghdad. We were relieving the Domincans and the Spanish troop in the area. When the Dominicans showed us how they patrolled, they took us to large apartment type building and showed us the local brothel. It was filthy (worse than the surrounding area) and filled with women & girls who had been thrown out & abandoned by their families. When all the Dominicans were done the headed back to their base. That was there idea of a patrol.
(Funny story to follow) Several weeks later a civil affairs captain wanted me to escort him to a hospital. He pointed out a mark on the map that was shaped like the symbol for a hospital. I looked at his map & told him that that wasn't a hospital but he wouldn't believe me & insisted that I take him there. I was a 1LT at the time & he was a CPT. When we got there I showed him that the building in question was the brothel. The buildings shape was represented on the map & happened to resemble the hospital symbol. Needless to say the building was off limits to all US personnel from the moment it was identified.

Not EASILY available. Remember, Iraq is a Muslim country, and Muslim countries tend to take a slightly harsher view of such immoral activities than we in America do. But, like any country, you can find prostitutes if you know where to look and you have the right amount of money.

Prostitution is not allowed in an Islamic state. Thus, the soldiers cannot avail of comfort women in Iraq.

There are No prostitutes in Iraq. You can get in trouble for having sex and I've seen a few demotions because of it. If you can't go a year without it, I wouldn't recommend it but you could get married to a female soldier of the same rank . But marriage is for life. Also porn is not allowed, customs got my whole collection during redeployment so don't try it.

Prostitution is as old as banking and I'm sure it exists in Iraq like every where else, Muslim country or not.

Thinking of signing up, are you?

I doubt you will find Czech prostitutes in Baghdad. You might want to wait until we declare ware on the Czech Republic before joining the military if that's your prime goal.

No they are not widely available. There are other men/women out there that offer those services, but you have to figure out who they are first before you know what their services are.

Soldiers can't go off base unless they are on a mission. And they tightly control who can come on base.

So the answer to your question is no

Arent you ashamed of asking this question? What a shame, What a shame. Thank goodness New Zealand didnt send any troops to fight that illegal war.

If this war continues at the current rate, in 10 years U.S will be bankrupt. Hopefully the world bank will be there to help them.
