Why are men who serve in the military committing suicide at significantly higher rates than civilians.

There are other occupations where people are exposed to death often, yet they hold it together.

What do you think is going on here?

I've heard that the Armed Forces MCSS is offering the new line of body armor from PPI. Do they have both the military and concealable armor? What about the new Armorlite concealable body armor?
Checkout the website at www.armedforcesmcss.us and tell me what you think.

Im and Army Infintray wife and the worst thing in the would happened this last week. My best friend got shot in a training accident. We were told that he was doing good, showing alot of improvment, and his family was getting taken care of while he was in the ICU. I was in England at the time and wanted to go home early but was asured that everything was ok. I got back to Germany and the secend I got off the plane we got in the car and my husband and I went to go visit our friend. The doctor pulled us aside and informed us that it had been to late. They had known he was not doing well for about 4 days and that he had been brain dead for 12 hours. We looked around and were shocked to see that no one from the company was there. We went down the street and his family was sitting on a curb alone. After my friend was shot the CO looked down at him looked back up at the guy who shot him and started yelling at him and left my friend not getting first aid. There were no safteys for the live fire

Just like Independence Day led to 9/11, the CBS show Jericho is foreshadowing a nuclear attack on US cities. All the arrows seem to be pointing at Baltimore with its emphasis on mass evacuations, port security, etc. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were also industrial port cities decimated by the first and only atomic bombs to be used on civilized populations. With the frenzy generated over other targets like Chicago, New York and LA, maybe Baltimore is falling under the radar. Could the "bombs bursting in air" from 1812 turn out to be "mushroom clouds rising from the ground" in 2009?

I read if you're an officer the highest you can get is O-3 and anything higher you would need atleast a Masters Degree, is this true?

And If I join with a bachelors degree (U.S Marines) how would I apply as an Officer, would it be mentioned to me after Basic or how does it go about?

I intend on getting a degree before joining the Military.

I recently watched "Band of Brothers", "Saving Private Ryan" and "Blackhawk Down". Since I play paintball and lasertag competitively, it would be good to get a standard set of hand symbols that we can use when we play. Might help give us an edge over our opponents.

I have not yet signed my contract but I will be shortly. In the mean time I put myself on a category two run/swim workout and my Dr. ok'd it. I was wondering though, what other things I should or could be doing besides running, swimming, and pushups/pullups/situps/body weight exercises? They need not be workout related such as learning tatics or whatever else. Is it possible for someone to give me some links also?

There was a time and it was and still is good advise, don't marry a foreigner when you are in the service and experiencing loneliness, most international marriages end in divorce more so than the numbers for Americans marrying Americans.
Now on the military TV channel, it is promoting marrying foreigners??
What the hell happened to the mind set in the military and who is running the show now?
There are many problems that come up with these international marriages and kids being the top of the list.
There has to be changes made to the way things are being done in the military and soon.

came across my husbands email and phone account because we got charged twice and I called the company to get it worked out and they reffered me to the account online. I have come to find that my husband has been calling and emailing a woman who is also in Iraq and who used to be stationed with him. In one of the emails he mentions missing hearing her scream his name. I am in utter shock, disbelief, heart broken right now. I have not talked to my husband in days because they have supposedly been on blackout. I was able to view his call logs as well and he calls the other woman way more than he even calls me. I can't wait till he calls so that I can let him know that I know. What is the best way to go about dealing with this? He's already been home on randr and I would have never in my life thought he would cheat on me or has. I came across this all on accident. Im feeling so lost right now. Obviously we need to get a divorce because my trust for him is broken.

I'm currently in DEP for the Navy and they say that women can bring 8 pair of underwear and two cotton bras. My recruiter advised me not to. I dont want to get there and have them give me dreadfully uncomfortable undergarments.
Should I buy some to take with me or just wait until I get there?
