As an act of mankind as a group I would have to agree that war is indeed the worse. Many of the people above answered correctly regarding acts of an individual or group of individuals. However, I must note that I have never been smart enough to figure out how any country could avoid all wars. And the idea of having peace by preparing for war has worked well in some cases in history. Like many questions involving war I truly wish I had a good answer.

Communism is the sickest idea to ever come from man. It goes against every natural and good instinct people have.

War is the last ditch and most definitive method of fixing conflicts between opposing nations. Some wars are necessary and noble, most are just ways for one group to steal from another.

No. War is preferable to slavery and subjugation. If you don't believe me just ask anyone in Hungary, Czechoslovakia or Poland. In the first two they took on Russian tanks with their bare hands and gasoline bombs. In Poland they engaged in incredible provocation to get the Russians to leave.

No, child abuse and sexual molestation is the most ugly and sickening act of mankind.
War for the right reasons and done correctly is a useful tool for development and liberation of nations. Our own Revolution was not ugly and sickening. It was a hard time, and many died, but they died for a noble cause. Same with WWI and WWII.
With child molestation, there is no noble cause. There is no justification...EVER!

It's bad in some cases but sometimes force is the only way to protect yourself.

I'd say genocide is the worst act; trying to rid the world of people you don't even know because they're different.

Uglier still is a mother paying for the death of her unborn baby. War is ugly, it's scary, it's unpleasant. But we can not allow other countries or entities threaten and attack us without defending ourselves. Sometimes things in life are not easy to face, but necessary.

It's a neccesary evil if it started with you on the receiving end of a sneak attack.
Be thankful the Nazis didn't win....you wouldn't even be able to ask this question publicly.

Definitely not! Apathy is the most disgusting and sickening act of mankind - the belief that nothing is worth fighting for. Not freedom, not individual rights, not life, nor hearth and home. *That* is disgusting...
