a change in the 'Q' would be more apt. Shall we change the word 'terrorist' to 'insurgent'?

It is almost impossible to win a guerrilla war because the defenders have more to lose and as a consequence are more committed. Never mind the nationality. If you literally meant a terrorist then obviously they have decided to commit an act with 100% guarantee that they will die. No sane soldier does that even though they may, at times, commit themselves to a dangerous stuation. They will still be hoping to survive.

In my books, neither Soldier of the US in Iraq or an Insurgent Iraqi is truly a dedicated warrior to start of with. But reality's fact is, both leaders have a right to defend their people and their land. And my apologies if this sounds offensive, because humanity without morals, ethics and discipline are nothing more than animals, and at least animals hardly ever have hidden motives, they just act as their hormones lead them... seldom with malice

For me the truly dedicated warriors of humanity are people like Gandhi, Mother Teresa, HH The Dalai Lama or Rev Martin Luther. For them.... people, their family, their loved ones are all that matter. Harmony is their reward while Peace is their Fire-arms and Loving Kindness is their Tanks

On the less Spiritual Aspect, the TRUE warriors are those who volunteer for the Red Cross or Red Cresent personnel who work tirelessly to save the lives of those that Insurgents and Soldiers alike injure in the Horror we call War.

A soldier. At the end of the day what has a soldier personally gain? Nothing for them selves. They fight for an idea or and ideal and they do it with honor (most of the time).

Terrorist are fighting for a personal again (freedom or to win favor with Allah) and don't care how they get it. The is no honor in that.

A US soldier.

A soldier is held to the standard of coming home. Accomplish the mission at by any means possible but come home alive. This philosophy goes all the way to the top. Every commander on the Battlefield wants every soldier to come home alive.

An insurgent hasnt been fully dedicated untill he is dead. According to the Quran the highest honor a muslim can receive is dying in defense of Islam.

If we look at this statistically, over 1 million soldiers have served in Iraq. over 3000 have died. thats about .3%.
So 99.7 percent of US soldiers have succeded in their missions.

Its unable to know exactly how many insurgents there are, but i can pretty much garantee that 99.7 percent of them have not put 100% effort into accomplishing their mission.

I would say both are dedicated, but I would have to say that the Iraqi are a little more because it is their country. They are blowing themselves up left and right, thats pretty dedicated. Yet, just because you are more dedicated does not mean that you are going to win. The terrorists in Iraq might be dedicated but their dedication is not going to keep a U.S soldiers boot from being stuck up their a**.

It seems the Iraqi terrorists have no value of life and the dedication starts when they strap on a bomb and know they are going out..

Most Soldiers wouldn't self destruct themselves but would find a better way to win without jeopardizing their lives!

That all depends on your definition of dedication-

Do you mean willing to build a bomb designed specifically to kill and maim innocent people when placed strategically in public areas? Killing yourself and hundreds of people because they eat pork and you think it is unclean? Buying into the brainwashing tactics employed on you since you were a child that makes you believe that it is actually a good thing to kill as many people as possible?

IN THIS CASE, IT WOULD BE THE TERRORIST "INSURGENTS"

On the other hand, if by dedicated you mean willing to fight and possibly die to protect your family and loved ones, to stand up for the values and sovereignty of your great country, and to be willing to place your personal feelings aside and submit to the good of the whole...

BY THIS DEFINITION, THERE IS NO GREATER DEDICATION THAN THAT OF THE AMERICAN SOLDIER.

A soldiers response . A Warrior is the one who risk his life
for the freedoms and protection that makes a better quality
of life for the people at all cost to Him in the pursuit of peace .
A Man/woman who answers the call of the people afflicted .

A soldier.

If for no other reason - their motives.

The US soldiers are fighting for the Iraqi people. The Enemy in Iraq is fighting against the Iraqi people.

BTW - I cannot figure out how anybody can call somebody who sends suicide bombers into a marketplace a 'freedom fighter.'

Well, I need to revise the wording slightly. An Iraqi freedom fighter is more dedicated. Our troops are there doing their job and doing it well but the freedom fighters are fighting for home and hearth and what is theirs. It comes down to fighting because your head tells you vs fighting for the things you love. heart and soul will always beat out logic.
