If most people have not had to sacrifice then what we are doing is worth it.

Remember that the whole idea of what we do is to make sure that what happens 'over there' remains 'over there.'

As an American, I feel as though you who are serving in this war, and your families, are "my family".
I do not pretend, to be honest, from day 1, my mind has never waivered from thinking our President is not God, but a man. Obviously a very powerful man, for I have only begun to learn,.... but why with a "United Nations",did he get to be the one to say...."War"?!NOW!! They were still inspecting, and where are those WMD's?
Though I do not support the reasons we were put to war, I am forever indebted to our young soldiers fighting for our Country.
Why did Mr. Bush send our "Our Families in Harms way", ...when will I ever stop thinking of the loss of lives, souls in Heaven, and lost souls comming home? NEVER! May God Bless all of soldiers, their immediate families, and those not bound by blood, but by Patrioutism, being fellow Americans who are not just waiving a flag, but are truely thankful for your sacrifice. I'm sure you'll feel the same. I have sons, but in war, in the now, as a mother,....every day I think and pray for all of you.
Love and Blessings to all our Soldiers and families.

Hey not fair. I'm too old to be in the war. My son was in the Army though is that enough of a sacrifice for you? When did Americans start calling out the degree of Americanism? All of us support you and believe in you, we also wish you weren't there in that awful country and risking your lives but when the persident orders you up, you have to go. Think of that in our next election.

My parents served in Afghanistan and Iraq for a tour of duty. I went a year of highschool (freshman) without my parents. Believe me, I sacrificed. Also, let us not forget all the driving I havent been doing since gas went above $3.00 a gallon.

I HAVE Served... have you?

Not everyone can serve, or is eligible to serve. If they want to wave flags and support those who can and do serve then great. I am glad they are supportive and not doing like the liberals are and calling us "babykillers" and the like.

I served in the military so that others did not have to.

They are not "pretenders" as you put it. Not everyone is cut out for the military life.

You think they have to serve in the military to have the right to support the military? Do you even realize just how ignorant that sounds, how much you look like a total @$$hole?

My thanks goes out to everyone who:

a) is currently serving
b) who has served
c) those who have not served but supported us who have.

My contempt goes out to those who:

a) do not support us
b) belittle those who do support us (like the asker)
c) pretend to have served when they haven't
d) who have served and yet turn on your brothers and sisters and mock them and their sacrifice or mock their supporters

My greatest contempt and even hatred goes out to that last group as they should know better.

So my question to you the asker is this...

Have YOU served. If not, you are in the same group you are denigrating here in your question. If you HAVE served then you are in that last most dispicable group of those who mock the very people who support us.

I would still thank you for your service but you still have my contempt and loathing for your actions since then.

Short of joining the war effort, (too old and out of shape) the only thing I can do is write to soldiers and send care packages. I am not a rich twitty snob who wears clothes made out of our flag or nor do I wave plastic US flags made in China around.
I love my country but I hate war.

I don't agree with that. There are MANY who are ineligible to serve in a military capacity that are helping in other ways.
There are people who adopt soldiers by writing and sending packages with their OWN money to keep morale up.
There are people who entertain troops to keep their morale up.
The are CHILDREN who raise money to send school supplies and toys to the children devestated by the war.
There are DOCTORS and HOSPITALS who donate their time, skills, and supplies to help others who can't afford surgeries and such.

To lump citizens into a "flag waving pretenders" is a general, biased, unfounded accusation.

I have sacrificed in my service to my country and in my loss of friend who died around me. Its simple: Those who chose to fight, they fight, those who do not or cannot, support those who do. You have no right to criticize one citizen of this great nation for their choice not to join the military, you probably are some kid in High School sat there behind the iron clad protection of the men and women serving abroad. Don't you dare belittle the efforts of those back home, don't you dare insult us who put our lives on the line. We did so, so that every man woman and child who chose not to could live a safe and peaceful life in the U.S. We gave you that right and we will continue to ensure you keep it. Don't you ever put those thoughts out there kid, its just plain ignorance.

Nothing but a little bit of national debt like the most of the rest of us. That doesn't make me a pretender. If we went all out, Iraq, Syria, Iran and half the world would be cinders.
