There was a time and it was and still is good advise, don't marry a foreigner when you are in the service and experiencing loneliness, most international marriages end in divorce more so than the numbers for Americans marrying Americans.
Now on the military TV channel, it is promoting marrying foreigners??
What the hell happened to the mind set in the military and who is running the show now?
There are many problems that come up with these international marriages and kids being the top of the list.
There has to be changes made to the way things are being done in the military and soon.

There should be special warnings aired to help educate on the problems and the high risk of divorce.

I'm pretty sure they aren't promoting it, but rather giving tips to people who are wanting to do so when on an assignment in a foreign country. Some guys just get the desire to get married.

not seen this BUT as a foreigner married to a USA service man, JUST what are the problems I bring to the table then.

Not picking a fight but gee don't you think that is a JUST a tad of an over generalization to be honest, and would LOVE to see where you get your figures for marriages ending up in divorces???

The Military Channel doesn't "promote" but give people some tips and support on marrying someone who's not American.

and by the by...TMC is NOT a DOD or government channel. It's just like any other private station.

They don't promote it. They just offer advice if you decide to go that route. They understand that if you put joes in a foreign country, some of them will get married. May as well have a support system set up.

Clearly you are speaking from what sounds like a bias point of view. Being one who has an "international marriage" for many years. My reply could only be bunk.
Bank up you perspective with evidence

Definitely a bad idea promoting it. I have so many friends going through problems brought about by such relationships.

do you remember Vietnam war? all the children Americans left behind.
in any war our man will leave their mark.and 20 yrs later they will be on Jerry springer ,or Maury pauvich.
the reason the romance don't last ,it's a passport marriage ,there's not in common ,they don't even understand English, the culture's are so different.
and yes military man get lonely ,and Nuki is Nuki ,they don't give a crap,if it's with the enemy ,and they don't even see their face's,because they are covered from head to toe's.
