As long as the job gets done with the least amount of casualties, it doesn't matter. They both do their assigned jobs to the best of their abilities, otherwise neither would be serving their countries.

Naval Aviators for these reasons:
Go to a Air Force Airfield and look at the runway - tire marks everywhere from landings.
Go to a Navy Airfield and there are two - that takes talent!
Air Force Pilots also get nervous when flying over the water and I would like them to land on a carrier at night, in bad weather and one engine out - oops, some only have one.

Navy. They are better trained, have longer deployments, are more often forward deployed, and (this is the most important reason) they don't whine, cry and complain like the Air Force Pilots do. The Air Force is still getting out of its old mindset of fighting a war with the russian bear. The Navy is more fluid and dynamic in its training and equipment. They are more strict in their discipline, yet encourage their aviators to come up with solutions to problems and create new tactics and weapons systems.

Navy, because landing is the hardest part, and the navy has to land on a small moving target at night and in all weather conditions. Not only do aircraft carriers go forward, they movie up and down and side to side with the waves.
The airforce though has to deal with massive boredom. While navy aircraft only last about a couple of hours in the air at best, some airforce jets require the pilot to be fully alert for 72 hours at a time as the bomber, spy aircraft or cargo plane literally flys around the world to complete its mission. As you know, a small doze for a pilot is a bad thing and then there is the whole eating, drinking and bathroom breaks that just don't exists on some aircraft.

In the old days when the Air Force was the Air Gaurd, and Army Air, they where. But today it is the Navy, because they are better trained with more of your money, and the Navy Air Force has more planes and funneled more training of the better pilots than the Air Force. The Air Force also helps in conjunction of the Navy to train pilots.

Naval aviators are allowed more slack so they try things early( they crash in the water). Airforce aviators have a more variety as far as the planes they fly yet they crash in the neighborhood.
