This accurate type of information is unavailable on Yahoo Answers.

You must visit with, or telephone your hometown military Recruiters for the very latest information. (A visit is best when getting your information.)

Right now, start making a list of all the questions you can think of. When the time comes, take your list of questions with you to the hometown military Recruiter and "pick their brain" to ensure all your questions are answered.

Also ask what types of high school courses you would also need to graduate high school, which would be to your advantage for your potential future job, when enlisting in the military.

There isn't a single branch that won't get you deployed. If you want to be part of the military...getting deployed is kinda the point of having a military. If there weren't 'wars' going on in the world, what is the point of having a military? ...I would say join the national guard since they do more then fight wars etc... but the are getting deployed left and right.

If you don't want to deploy, get a civilian government job.

Listen here missy. If you dont want to get deployed then you better rethink this before you sign on the dotted line. Don't know if you have a TV or not but the military is not making their quota for new enlistiees. Reason being "NO ON WANTS TO GO TO WAR" there's a war going on and their desperate for people. Thats why the requirements to join has changed numerous times.

I guess you are the product of someone painting the picture that the military just plays and has fun... If you don't want to get deployed, the military is not for you. There are auxiliaries to the military that do not get deployed such as the State Guard (not to be confused with the National Guard) and Civil Air Patrol. These are civilian-run, and I am pretty sure neither of them pay their members. In-fact the Civil Air Patrol requires its members to pay to join.

Depends on why you dont want to deploy.

If it is because you are afraid or unwilling to fight, then you should join the AF or the Navy. Plenty of Airman and Sailors are fighting in Iraq, by the way. However, you are much less likely to see combat in those services.

If you just dont want to be away from the US, the military isnt for you.

No matter what alot of uninformed people on this site tell you....Everyone deploys, including the USCG

All of the branches have or have had people deployed, even the Coast Guard. (Don't get me wrong, I love Coasties, I just thought they were supposed to be guarding OUR coast.)

If you aren't prepared to be deployed, to Iraq or Afghanistan or anywhere else, don't join. If you're serious about it, though, and are willing to work hard, join the branch that fits you and good luck.

If you don't want to go oversees join the Coast Guard. It is still considered a military and they do an important job, the guard the US from other terrorists. My brother in law is in the coast guard and he has had a very good career. Plus, all their jobs are open to women.

They all deploy, it just depends on what you choose to do. For instance, they don't have dental hygientists over there from what I know, certain jobs like that....
