They were supposed to go in retirement in early 90's, but because of their effectiveness against Saddam tanks in the first Gulf war, they were rehabilitate...
Now with the assymetric warefare in Iraq, they aren't usefull anymore on the Battlefield..

As far as fixed wing aircraft go, they're cheap, resiliant, and the get the job done. With todays asymmetric warfare there's no need for an f-22 or a b-2. The A-10 has once again proven its combat effectivness and its here to stay. I know alot of infantry men that speak vey highly of the A-10 for getting them out of some hairy situations. It is an attack aircraft so yah, I'd say thats what its designed to do.

Nah, i never realy cared for it, though i love The Killers. The 'Ive got soul' bit is pretty cool though, but the tune is a bit bland and repetetive for me.

I used to really love them things when I was in the infantry. They're like the old Texas Rangers; it only takes one to stop a riot.
