~A. Learn to write.
B. Learn to read.
C. Never mind C. Once you learn to read and write, you should be able to figure the rest out on your own. The basic difference between a Jarhead and a Dogface however, is the waterwings. Squids is just squids, but some be crazier than the rest and they keep them isolated, under lock and Seal.

This is the basic difference:

The Marine Corps trains to take land from sea. The Army trains to take land from land or from air (via parachute).

Marines are stationed on navy ships all over the world and often are the first force into an area because they are the closest.

The Army has rapid deployment units as well but they center around Airborne operations and are prepared to jump into and area when it is not accessible by water.

Both are fierce war fighters and work together. The Army is about 8 times the size of the Marine Corps, and therefore is better equipped for a sustained fight.

Marine Corps is a branch of the navy, that specialise in creating points of entry for the army along a countrys coastline (beaches etc) Once those points are established, the army starts to pour their ppl thru those points. Marines are not required to penetrate in depth into a country or hold on to large landmasses, thats the job of the army.

Navy Seals are the quickest reactionary force followed by marines. The marines motto has been first in and last out.

The army is much bulkier (more men and equipment) and takes months to get in position overseas. When actually defending or to taking land though, the army is in a much better position to do it. There isn't enough marines to hold land against a large army and without the army, they have almost no supply line.

Navy seals are en elite group of navy members. It's pretty much your job in the navy. You go throuhg a much more advance training and it is very tough to do. Army and marine both have ground forces as well as other jobs. The Air Force is by far the best branch to go into!!!

marine corps is not just a ground force....and it says so in the marine corps song. "From the halls of Montizuma to the shores of Tripoli, I will fight my countries battle in the air on land and sea." They do have their own ships even though the navy drives them and the do fly their own aircraft.
