Yea, you know what I mean. When you were in high school, those army guys came around for career day. Yea, yea, yea they told us all the great things about the military. Money for school, great service to country. great benefits, learning discipline. What they don't tell you is, well if you die in war, you won't get any money for college. When you come home from war, you could end up on the street because that's how we treat vets. You may come back without a limb. You may not get the best care available( remember that story a few months back). Oh yea, well if you get Vet benefits, you probably won't receive Social Security, although you paid into it. You can't get more than one check, although you sacrificed your life to protect our country from people we just happened to decide to fight for no apparent reason. See, this is what they don't tell you. You will join, but you won't fight( that's what they told my friend.) How can you spend college money dead? At least tell the whole truth.

I know what you mean. I'm so tired of that crap. They always use their damn "catch" - we pay for your college funds & you get so many benefits. WTF are we going to do with the benefits if we're not here anymore?!
Now that I'm out of HS, they keep calling me too and that's total BS. They asked what am I doing after HS well I'm in a university with a scholarship then they had the nerve to say well if college doesn't work out for you give us a call and we can give you great benefits. WTF is that?

Junior, you need to stick to what you know. You know nothing about what you are talking about and you proved that point by asking this question, which really isn't a question. You have no idea what soldiers do for a living and even less clue about death benefits if they do give their lives for their country. If a person wants to enlist that is their choice. There are a million horrible colleges out there that nobody says a word about and a whole lot more really bad and super dangerous jobs here are home but you aren't saying anything about those. Mills and plant workers that give their life for nothing at all. Get off your uneducated soap box and let those serve that want to serve. If you don't want to enlist, don't. There a ton of people out there that know you are wrong and will fight your views all the way because they have first hand knowledge instead of sideline coaching like you are doing. Fight your own battles and leave the military out of them since you are clueless.

You're a complete idiot. Why are you whining about this? Were you rejected from the Army because of your low IQ? or are you jealous of the Recruiters?
I for one am going to enlist in the Military (Marines) and I know that im likely going to be deployed to war if there is was one at the time I enlist, and I know many other obvious things recruiters may or may not tell people and I've never talked to a Recruiter in my life.
And also my GrandFather was deployed during the Vietnam war and he came back with no problems. He doens't live on the streets, he owns a house in California thats worth over a million dollars and he owns 3 cars and he's been working ever since he was drafted and he just recently retired as a undercover narcotics officer, and he's 60 and has no health issues and is in the greatest shape possible.
So like I said above, you're an idiot who knows nothing and stereotypes everything. I don't know of any war veteran who lives on the streets or who has been treated badly. So I suggest you stop getting information from anti-war and anti-soldier websites.

I, like many of my friends, didnt join the military for the money. I joined because it was a feeling of patrotism. if you want money for college, get an uncle sam loan. Yes, there is a chance of you getting shot at, but it IS a voulentary military-if your too scared, then dont join-no one is making you. Just think \though-its because of all those vets, you are able to ask questions or say stuff against the goverment-they aint allowed to say jack down in venesuela which just became a dictatorship. Also, being homeless is the luck of the draw sometimes-most people on the street are crazy-remeber that, and not military or vets.

The recruiters have a job to do, just like anyone else. They're not there to force you to join, just get the information out to anyone who is interested in joining. Had 3 friends from High School join the army. All three of them ended up in their first assignment at Checkpoint Charlie, all three made it home all right. Anyway the military is volunteer, if you want to join, then join; if not, then don't.

Ok first of all its Career day and HELLO thats a career path. Closed minded people like you frustrate me SO much. Grow up. Whats the harm in them coming and talking about it. You know the risk of being sent somewhere, so why wouldnt they talk about the benefits too. They actually make great points, if you just listen. Our troops need our support, whether you join them or just cheer them. You dont have to agree with everything but the fact is They Are risinking their lives while you sit here Fat and Happy. If I go skydiving their not going to say, you could die. You could be crushed against the ground and never live your life. No, we know the risk going in. Errrrrr just.... grow up!!

Military recruiters are in their jobs because they are good salesmen. They stay in their jobs if they recruit a specified amount of men and women each month. If they miss their quotas for a couple of months in a row they are asked to return to their regiment. These people are under enormous pressure to recruit qualified people. They often exaggerate and even lie to get someone to sign. Beware. If what you had to say about our servicemen returning and not given the proper treatment by the government then Washington should be burned to the ground with Congress sitting at their desks doing nothing. What is happening to this country?
