According to US law, no more than 1,000 refugees may be admitted to the US or granted asylum in any given fiscal year. In other words, there is a limit to our willingness as a nation to be a haven for families like Jesus’ who are fleeing death.

I am denied access the buildings that I built and paid for (to shelter me and my possesions).

I was promised a safe home ( I am disabled-heart damage). Their (addict)adult children moved back home and stole from me to support their drug habits, etc.. My brother and his wife denied it until it was proven to them. My brother, and his wife, are also guilty of stealing from me, and allowing themselves and their offspring to abuse me. Their sons confessed to, or were caught in the act of crimes by, BOTH parents. I was threatened that I would loose my home if I didn't let them handle the situation. The abuse continued and I fled for safety.

They have treated me as though I betrayed "family" by my naive ideology of right and wrong.

I was so traumatized that I spent two month in a mental has hospital that specializes in emotional trauma. I receive treatment from a psychiatrist and a psychologist. The cost in property and related medical expense

to obtain a passport that is not assigned to any country? Like I'm English but I would like to obtain a means of being allowed to travel without having to have a British passport. No offense I just hate England (yes, leave then, I know ha,ha) just thought there might be one of those strange International Laws out there that allows you to travel under a different means.

My dad died and he had a revocable living trust. He lived in California at the time of death. All of his property was listed on the trust. I inherited one of those houses. I am now in the middle of selling the house and the lawyer says that he didnt deed the house to the trust. Well, now the lawyer says we have to file a Probate. The thing is there were 5 houses and all listed on the trust and my house is the last one to sell and now all of a sudden this has popped up from nowhere. I find it hard to believe that he failed to list one and list 4 others. Does anyone out there know what i could do? My house closes on Feb 10 2008 and i have been told that in Oklahoma a probate can take up to 2 years. AND if he has a living trust why must i probate? I just dont understand all of this. HELP~~!!

It was a green light, and the 1st car was at a dead stop for a while, and the I guess the 2nd car noticed the 1st car and suddenly slammed on the brakes, and then I (3rd car) slammed on the brakes and skid and hit the 2nd car, the 2nd car and me was traveling 20mph while the 1st car was at a dead stop on a green light; so who's fault is it?

I am not an advocate of a MasterRace.............. but if some deffeciency in the human genome is minimized through lack of reproductive capacity is it then not unethical to circumvent this via embryo implantation in surrogate mothers ?

We could be perpetuating human suffering needlessly ?

We have always said non-conception is better than abortion both medically and ethically (unless you happen to be the Pope).

If nature takes its unimpeded course then will not inferior traits be minimized through lack of vitality in the womb ?

I live in Florida. I've lived with my boyfriend over a year. Recently while up in Ohio for the holidays we broke up. He put me on a plane back to Florida and took my key. My name is not on the lease of the apartment and his mom pays the rent but I get all my mail and bills sent there. I have ALL of my clothing and belongings in there. I have lived there full time with my pets and him for over a year. He doesn't get back for another week and I need at least some of my stuff. My friend(cop) said I can legally break a window because I'm locked out of my home, but I would rather just get a locksmith to open the door. Every time I say I'm going to get my stuff, he says he has people watching the house and if I go anywhere near the house I'm going to get sued. I don't plan on taking or destroying any of his things, Just what belongs to me. Can he sue me? Am I allowed to go get my belongings? Am I allowed to still live there even since its my home

Let's say you're married. Let's say while you're married, your spouse has an affair with another man that leads to a pregnancy. Let's say your spouse tells you the child is yours. Let's say less than two years after the child's birth, the spouse leaves the marriage, takes the child and commences collecting child support with the full knowledge that the child was fathered by another man. Is there any crime committed here? Is there any action the man who didn't father the child can take? Or is it just an unfortunate case of being the victim of unscrupulous bottom feeders?

This is a question for those with knowledge of ENGLISH law! If a person in England was off work ill and in receipt of Statutory Sick Pay, could they obtain legal aid in order to get divorced? (I know they could if they were on Income Support, but I don't know how it stands with sick benefit.).

The person concerned has a live-in partner who works and earns a modest salary and they pay rent to the council. The partner has an 18 year old child from a former marriage who is at college and lives at home with them. The person himself has 2 children who live with their mother and he does not currently pay them any maintainance at all. (Yes, I know, what a pig!).

He SAYS he is off work sick and in receipt of SSP so can't obtain legal aid to fund a divorce from the mother of his children.

Something here isn't quite adding up... is he telling the truth or CAN he obtain legal aid?

He broke up with her and never really showed any interest in marrying her, besides initially asking her of course. Wouldn't the ring default to a present. A 6 year engagement is a lot to expect from middle-aged woman. The relationship took place in Michigan, if that makes a difference.
