I am moving to the UK in a few months. 10 years ago, when I was young and stupid I got a felony drug conviction. Never been in trouble since. Will this show up on a UK background check or can I finally put my past to rest.

in michigan so many jobs have been shipped out of country and the few that remain only employ a small amount of people! why do people try to get others fired just because they do not like them?is it because they are such sloppy workers themselves that they are jealous of this workers dedication to quality and quanity and not wasting time? my daughter was suspended because a supervisor was mad that she got to her work area early to do paperwork for her shift, she has done this for over 3 years!! he starts yelling at her to get off the line cause he says his people are clening (there is no one on the line!) he proceeds to shove her and yelling at her threating to walk her out and grabbed her upper arm.when they both went upstairs to talk about this he of course denied it and the HR person as much as called her a liar saying none of our supervisors would lay a hand on a employee or they would be fired so he did not do it!!!! he did do it!!! this is a union shop ,shesnever beenintrouble!!!

My husband was involved in an accident and the other driver is suing us. If the other driver wins the case do we have to pay or does the insurance company take care of it?

I paid a company $175.00 back in November for unlimited snow plows this winter. First snowfall: no one showed up. We got more than 6 inches so I had to get the driveway plowed and took out a contract with another company (a good one this time). The first company assured me they would refund my money but it's been a few weeks and, having received nothing, now I know they have no intentions of doing that. They are not answering my calls. What should I do? Is it worth going to Small Claims for that amount? Can the police help me recover my money without going to court?

I'm 16 and yet I don't know if you have to be 18 or if there even is a legal age to purchase a knife. There seems to be nothing on the internet concerning this issue.

The First Amendment of the Constitution protects the rights of marketers to advertise. However, the Supreme Court has ruled that the absolute prohibition of commercial speech shown to be false, deceptive and misleading is not a violation of the First Amendment.

I am doing some research on how people feel about this topic.
I could use some feedback,

How do you feel about this, do you feel that commercial speech should be entitled to the same First Amendment protection as noncommercial speech, news reporting, and political commentary. Or do you feel a different
standard should be applied to commercial speech.

I have been on SS disability for about 6 years. I was under the impression that children of disabled persons can also receive a check that is a certain percentage of what the disabled parent receives. I inquired a few times and was told that my child wasn't eligible because I was receiving all that I could get, and that maybe if my disability check was more, then the child could receive one as well. I don't understand this since I know so many people whose children received checks due to their disabled parent. One in particular is a man who claimed he has 8 children, only 3 of them ever lived with him, and when he got his disability, each of those 8 grown children received several thousand dollars in back pay. What exactly are the rules here? Thanks.

My father passed away a little less than two years ago.Since then, she has hired this RAT to come in and remodel her kitchen and install new hardwood floors. But he's all talk. I am the only one who is home while he works. If he shows up, it's not until 3 or 4pm and either works for an hour or two or he comes over for 2minutes and then says he has to go return something at Home Depot. This usually takes him a few hours to do, I'm not sure why.Oddly enough he lives right by Home Depot and he could very easily take whatever it is with him at night and return it next day.The only time he actually does work is when he is putting in something big that everyone can see. My mom made the mistake and paid him upfront and since then he has shown up with a brand new truck, a diamond watch and he's recently bought his girlfriend (who dates sugardaddies online for money) an engagement ring.Hes taking advantage of her and her situation and someone needs to stop him but I don't know how.

Hypothetically, a couple is married and they have a will. One dies and afterwards the wife wants to change the will completely. She wants to take some heir's off the will completely. They were originally intended to receive 95 % of the asset. She desperately wants them to receive nothing.

She sat down with a lawyer and changed the will, but a year later the lawyer is claiming that now those intended to receive 95 % still need to be included. They will now receive 95 % of half of the assets. Meaning 45 % total.

Does this sound right? Can it not be changed now?

Any input would be great,

The case was for misdemeanor petty theft which I was not aware of until a background check pulled it up. The background check said I still had a outstanding warrant. When I called the courthouse in Florida though they said the case had been null processed and was closed. How can I get this off my record and clear the warrant issued?

The charge is a felony, and it's drug related (doesn't get much worse, right?). However, it's also 18 years old, adjudication withheld, and sealed. I have no intention of concealing it from the BON, I just want to know if anyone has a similar experience and can help me understand what my chances are. Furthermore, will any hospital hire me?

This accident occurred in a restaurant parking lot. The other driver failed to stop at a T-intersection within the parking lot. The cop wouldn't issue a ticket since he said it is their policy only to issue tickets for violations occurring on roadways, not private parking lots. The other driver's insurance company is eager to get my friend to settle. The other driver failed to yield the right of way even though my car was stopped. She plowed into my car and totalled it. I suffered a serious injury which is still being diagnosed by my doctor. One lawyer I contacted said he wasn't interested since the accident occurred on private property. My question is "Is their a law that requires drivers to obey state traffic laws while driving within parking lots in the state of Texas? Particulary right of way traffic laws"
